If I'm going to carry an unloaded gun, I might as well carry a club.

I have read alot of the post in here, Back to the Original Topic,
For 16 years I have driven I have always carried my 12 guage Coach Shotgun in my truck, and within the last 10 I started carrying my .45 with me all the time. I do not goto Canada, and when I goto NYC I have a lock box that is mounted elsewhere on the truck. I Have a CHL, and NOT once have I ever gotten any flack from any State cop, DOT officer. Anytime I get pulled over be it for an Inspection or for something else, I am ALWAYS upfront about the guns in the truck, 99% of them could care less when I had them my CHL. But I will remind you that Ignorance of the LAW is no Excuse. There are website that show each states Laws in regards to carrying in your Vehicle, and who recognizes who. Federal Law reads one way, but when a State or Municipality Passes laws that are More Stringent they take precedence, and if you lie about a GUN being in your Truck you will get more hell than if you are honest and upfront. Just Saying the truth usually sets you free.

concealedcarry.net Has the most up to date information I have found about which state honors which states permits.

I carry firearms in my truck and have done so ever since I Reginald Denny getting pulled out of his truck and beaten by a mob during the LA riots.

I refuse to be a victim because I was unprepared for any eventuality.

I hear you loud and clear. My husband was out in LA when that happened, waiting on a load of strawberries. He abandoned waiting on that load and headed to AZ as soon as he heard the news of what was going on. Dispatch got him a load out of AZ instead.

I think that the best site that shows the CCW states and which states honor them is www.handgunlaw.us. Great interactive map that gives details for each state. Just click the state.

Your link seems to go to a domain that someone either let go, or has up for auction. You might want to double check the link. :biggrin_25525:

You are wrong about not being able to carry. If you read the whole thread you would know there is no law prohibiting you from having a firearm in a commercial vehicle.

Im new to this thread. I have my ccw but currently dont carry in the truck. We goto wisconsin and illinois alot and those states have very little on the books protecting me for carrying. I know I shouldnt need a law to protect my rights but the fact remains car or truck you get pulled over carrying concealed in those states your in trouble. I cant afford that. I have told my wife if something happened criminally that caused my death, that she should try sueing to change the laws.

Does anybody have any experience carrying when their company forbid it? I often wondered if a company fired someone for that if they could try bringing a lawsuit for violation of your second amendment rights?

I know some that were fired and some that lost their lease because of company policy.

It doesn't mater if it is legal if it is against your companies policy. also alot of shippers and cons say no firearms. It is posted on a big sign at the entrance to all of our terminals stating NO GUNS. As I really wish I could carry my company says no. Although doesn't change the fact I would feel safer about parking on the streets of downtown LA,miami, ####cago, and around the big apple. I have grown up shooting guns all my life. I have carried one on me at all times till I started this job. Anyone know any companies without this rule?
