Looking for a trucker to bring pets!

    I'm hoping owner/operators have less restrictions and can carry pets? I'm researching bringing our two very good cats from Las Vegas- Nellis AFB (our old home) to our new home in Alexandria, VA (willing to meet you up to 150 mile radius from our new home in VA).

    It's at least $500 to fly them both! We'd like to save money and pay a trucker about $200 to bring them if possible...

    Is this a common request? I would think more people would much rather have their animals ride with a trucker than fly in a too hot or too cold luggage compartment!

    Thanks in advance. We'd like to get them out of Las Vegas within the next two weeks if possible. We have friends there who could meet you too within 100 mile radius or so. Thanks!

    Update: About 2,100-mile trip and we will definitely pay more if needed.

    I think its a good choice to choose a trucker, airplanes are most likely a scary experience for any pet, I would not like to be locked up in that little cage and being lifted to high altitudes.

    Most truckers love/have pets and I for one would be more than willing to help out. I just got out of the hospital and had to put my 10 month old Pug in a boarding house..he was scared and probably mad at me too for the next 5 hrs after I got him "home" in the truck, so I can imagine how frightening it would be for a pet to fly. Not to mention the way them airport ppl would handle such " luggage". That's scary in it'self. Good luck
