LOL Poor guy....my son is out with my husband right now..and then he will be taking my other son...people have asked me if I want to ride around in the truck with him...my answer is ..hell no..we have been together for almost 20 years, I love him dearly, but spending THAT much time with him..we would kill each other!! I know how hard it is for him and he knows how hard it is for me, it is a mutual understanding and I trust him explicitly. I was fully prepared when he decided to go down this road and I think that is important. I don't think a lot of women understand what it takes. I put it in the same boat as a military wife, although they have to deal with their husbands being gone for a year at a time..I don't think I could handle that. Only seeing him 4 days a month is bad enough.

Ouch Stranger!! The harsh realities of a trucker's life..
-
I tend to be a realist, much to the dismay of my wife.
truckerdave, where did you end up at? -
Career wise, marriage wise, or just on the forum tonight?
-
Carrier wise. I followed all the trials you had with the tires and other things at your last place, and I think I saw where you went somewhere else, but can't remember where at the time. -
I got a job with a national restaurant chain. We deliver fresh dough every day to bakeries in the Ohio Pennsylvania area. Home every night! Making slightly less then OTR with none of the expenses.
I would say exactly who but I don't trust Knight to try and sabotage my new gig! In fact, they lied on my DAC report and it almost cost me job a month after I started. But I explained to my boss the truth and it was dropped. Knight is a bunch of ########! -
I followed your Knight experience. It was a total cluster mess. I'm glad you found something better. I've also saw your post on medical cards. I know exactly how you feel about disqualifying things not having anything to do with being able to drive a truck. -
What else can I do? All I know is truck driving! If I really ever felt I wasn't 100% safe, I would hang up the keys in a flash! I couldn't live with myself if I ever hurt someone else, but it would bother 1000 times more if it was my fault and I could have prevented it! So far, knock on wood, I can still drive safely despite the medical issue.
