See everytime I read one of these I see bad at the company level and the driver level. Sure it was dumb to take so long to fix something dumb. And yes, redtagged trucks happen #### near anytime you go into the terminal (THATS why the werner trucks are in the pilot and Flying J in Dallas, and not their terminal). But at the same time, #### hard to see something at night? Try a flash light? Something like that can not only hurt you but an innocent person. (Sure the chances are relatively low, but really, using the night time excuse is a cop out.) While you are mouthing off about some lazy butt mechanic not doing his job right... flip that mirror around for me ey?

I used to miss Werner, I don't anymore. GTS has me too spoiled these days. The maintenance delays were ridic. SNI was same way but they gave loaner trucks to try and make up for it. Dispatchers were like high school drop outs over there, I know that now. Also when you get your truck back, make sure your stuff is still there. Them maintence boys are hired right outta the pen.

I guess i missed this post. I've had exactly 1 day off for every week this year. They screw me out of one every once in a while but i take it back later...

As for the brakes, uhm...my flashlight is only so bright. I also had a trailer, and had been under it for in excess of a day. Its not like you can just climb under it and have a wide open view like you can of the trailer. And who knows when they cracked anyway. I dont give a <Removed by Mastertech>what you think about me, and never will. You're a perfect driver, so go on being perfect. I dont give a <Removed by Mastertech>. If you were running an RGN or a car hauler, how the would you pretrip your brakes every morning? Do you find a pit every day to park it over?

Phroziac, did you ever consider running dedicated? i.e. family dollar or other where you would be making a little better money with them?
Just curious :Compass: maybe a "little change" in direction :biggrin_255:

I considered it, but I couldn't get into any good ones. It also still has the same problems with piss poor maintenance, and more. I helped out on dollar general for a couple weeks with an open mind, and was told that if i moved to the area (VA) i could stay on the account....f that account. I figured it out that the unload pay + multiple stop pay was less than just multiple stop pay for a midwestern regional driver...what the hell? Also, the unloading sucked, the stores delivery areas were often ridiculous, and the trailers were loaded dangerously--lots of workmans comp claims due to heavy products at the ceiling of trailer, etc. That last one in itself was enough for me to not be interested. However, very cute girls work at dollar general. rofl.

I also point out that the reason i was needed to help out was because the "safety gestapo" as one of the regular guys at the dc put it, came in from omaha to visit, followed drivers around on their routes, and fired people for things like hopping a curb and touching grass (no damage), and speeding 3 over the limit, etc. Have you *seen* the stores? The account did make me better at backing up and dealing with low clearances though. A lot of the stores would have certain parts of the parking lot with low wires, etc.

And plus i had a lot of issues with recruiting lying to me. Had issues getting a hold of the honest ones repeatedly. One guy told me to keep checking the walmart dedicated account in my area cause they were having a high turnover recently (walmart is a good account), some chick told me they dont hire on it in my area at all, ever. the hell? Even had one chick tell me that chep dedicated pays 25cpm (thats the best dedicated account and pays over $1 a mile.....for a company driver...)

Oh, i found one. If they'll have me, thats another story..

"no" I've never seen any cute girls in dollar general. ever. Cute girls are about two percent in fact where we live. I'm married so who cares. Anyway, you bring a good point as to backing in the dollar G stores they never planned for deliveries when building these things. As for the stalking safety guy I used to HAVE to jump curbs no way around it to blind to delivery door at the A&P and grass are you kidding me? Three miles over the speed limit? If he waited around until the freight was unloaded then fired me I would kick his arse:biggrin_25523:
