My brother in law left prime last month, after 1 month.

I'd love to give you those particulars (as you call them).

Yeah... you're another guy who has an axe to grind with Prime - whose never driven for them.

So really, who peed on your brother-in-law's parade? Or is he just really trying not to look like the jerk who married your sister?

I'd like to hear it as well, I bet there is another side to this story as well, What happened? Didn't get his new 2011 KW or Pete delivered to him on his first home time? After only 20000 of the first 60000 miles he was supposed to spend with his trainer? Tell us PLEASE!. Thanks. TD.

BTW... you guys were worried about 16 hours backing practice - that's in orange cone land too.

Just so you know, if you were to have gone to Prime for your CDL, you get 100 hours of individual behind-the-wheel time. In the real world. One-on-one with an instructor. The CDL instructors I've met are all very professional, most with well over a million miles.

That's not to say that the tech-school approach doesn't have it's plusses. I got my CDL through one of the better tech schools, and the in-class time was very valuable. OTOH, the 100-wheel hours produces a student who is a much better driver when he goes out with his CDL in a trainer's truck.

Keep this in mind too... even after you get that nice shiney CDL, you're not a truck driver. There's a lot more to it, so pay attention to where you end up for your first job. 5-weeks with a trainer, then on your own generally produces one thing - a wheel holder who is dangerous to himself, and everyone on the road. Go for as much training as you can get.

I spent three weeks in school, three weeks with a trainer at Arrow last summer, then tested out ,and into my own truck. My trainer wouldn't let me back because it was too "stressful" for him in the truck.
I have completed my first year accident, incident, and violation free.
Not for the lack of 4 wheelers trying to make it otherwise.
I didn't really learn to drive until I was on my own.Training is essential ,but sometimes there are exceptions to the rules. You are either mature, focused, and pay attention, and be safe ,or you are not.

And in the mean time, while you're trying to figure out how to drive the beast, you're putting all of us and every 4-wheeler in your path at risk. Sorry man, but I have to disagree. Six weeks? That should be criminal in my opinion.
