Ok, so I deliver tomorrow in Jerome, ID. After that, I may be sent somewhere that might require a permit, since Idaho has so many restricted routes. I think it is an Over Length Permit, not sure. Their website lacks clear information. What I am trying to find out, is what the permit is called, and how much it cost. This is my first time in Idaho, so, I know nothing.

The permit is called an overdimensional permit. It will have the route that Idaho wants you to take on the permit and is the route you have to take. The cost will dep-end on the total width, height, length and weight. I just did a 13'6" wide load at it was $60. I was legal on weight, length and height
crc32 and Truckers Advocate Thank this. -
I use to run Idaho 5 - 10 times a year with a FLD120 condo and a 53' dry van. Idaho is serious about their routes, follow the rules and you will be fine. Their law enforcement officials seem to be some of the most professional and courteous every day kind of people I have ever dealt with; but if you act like a jerk they won't mess around, and they will throw the book at you.

crc32 Thanks this. -
If you are a company driver call your dispatch office and ask them. Tell them what highway you are going to be traveling. If you are an owner operator you may have to contact the scales office, you want to do this ahead of time as per idaho opens and closes there scales alot.
