Seems to me that you should leave the advances alone and stop eating out all the time.

Ah, so if i get a $0 check, I'm supposed to? Not eat at all? And it's OK for a check to be less than a $200 advance, right? Wow. Keep workin for $200 a week, and not eating, i dont give a ####.

See, you'd think having a decent job such as driving, a $200 advance wouldnt be a big deal. You get a decent check, and it almost doesnt matter.

And ok, maybe i should stop eating out all the time. But stillll.

And besides that, this thread was not posted to complain about werner. It was posted to say, ...Hey, im LEAVING!

For some reason I was able to take $100 out of my paycheck every week and feed myself off of that, pay scales and some cash tolls (Ohio) and when I pulled $20 out of my pocket for the company I got just what I paid out in $20 increments and nothing more when I fueled and then only! I found that eating one big meal a day and a snack for breakfast did me fine and I didn't gain weight that I didn't need! But as long as I've been driving I found if you don't have it in your pocket you aren't going to spend it!

I can't see $200 a week in personal costs! And that was even when I smoked! But My wife got mine for me so I wasn't running out in an over priced state and buying there!

I also made my own coffee as that $1.50 a thermos got to be a little steep and mine always tastes better than J or Pilot, TA and Petro.

Quit thinking you need $200 a week especially with these bottom feeders that aren't paying you or charging you when you do get an advance. Like you did I'd be gone so fast they might be able to maybe read the tag number on the bike!

As I said, fill your wallet before you leave home and ONLY advance what you paid out for that bottom feeder that's to cheap to get discounts with a pre paid toll card or pass, to cheap to buy their own cell phones for drivers and to cheap to keep money on a fuel card! When I need my weekly allowance that the wife gives me and I haven't made it back home I'll stop at Walley World and buy a box of snacks, and my supplies I need and then get my $100 free of charge with my check card! Screw that over inflated ATM charge at the truck stops!

I work for them so they can pay and pay me back on time! I swear some of the educated yoyo's they have running some of the finance departments in these looser bottom feeder trucking companies can't run a lemonade stand much less a major company but they attempt to and we're the ones who wind up paying for it like these companies that used to be great companies to drive for who decide to go L/P so they can make more dollars and relieve themselves of a lot of headaches, they think until they realize that L/P has more problems than having company drivers!

Which can bring me back to a touchy subject for me! It's called COPY EVERY PIECE OF PAPER THAT CROSSES YOUR HANDS! Every BOL scale, gallon of oil, light bulb or marker light or receipt for anything that went to that truck make a copy of it as I have worked for idiot companies that would tell me "it wasn't in the trip Pack" or" we didn't get a Trip pack" so I'd just fax them another copy and copy the fax receipt and send it in also! The worst offender was some bottom feeder major company on 159th st out of Olathe, KS!

But any way the old days of sitting on a thousand dollars in your wallet are gone! Screw the company! But eating like you need 3 squares a day is silly! Or playing the pin balls, paying the coin operated baby dolls and other such nonsense just throws good money away!

    Rant Over!
Good Luck on the new job Phrozaic!

I was not spending $200 a week for personal expenses. It was more like $100, and then at the most generally another $50 for reimbursables, and thats only for multiple canadian runs....domestic loads only, it was more like $10.. $200 was just the advance amount i was taking. Then there's my bills. That's all. Most weeks i was at werner, i never even took an advance. But for a $200 advance to be all that there is to a paycheck...is bull. I'm not gonna work for $200 a week out here.

Oh yeah, i never seemed to have the hours to get to walmart. I was constantly running out of hours when i shouldnt have been fighting the clock so hard, over there. #### paperless logs... I'll be so much happier to be on paper logs. :D The boss man made it sound like they arent too strict on checking up on logs vs location, but he was quick to remind me..."But the dot can do anything they want..."...but just because im available for load, or just because im under a load (yet not hooked to it, ie walmart live unloads), shouldnt mean i cant bobtail off without logging it.

I could eat for as little as $50 to $70 a week if i got stocked up from walmart....

Then you were doing right! But my earlier statement still goes! I'd been out of there so fast all they would have seen was exhaust ! 1 paycheck like that and my bag and bike were history!

I don't deal or play well with bottom feeders! And I don't need some "biker rags" hanging off my shoulders for them to know this! I have the whiskers from to many years of driving to be treated like that! Ask that moron from Olathe, KS and his big arsed company and his little boyfriend that sits across from him how deep down his throat I'll get! I work for money and for them to get rich but I'm NOT doing it for free! I have been known to get back pay in some interesting ways!

You've learned one of the more damning things about trucking. Expenses and how they get reimbursed to the driver.

Regardless of whether you take personal advances, or advances to cover a company expense. It still ##### with your check, while those receipts catch up to your payroll.

It's been years since I've taken an advance. They always owe me money at the end of the week, if I have to scale or cover anything else. Fortunately, they don't take days or weeks about giving me my money back.

I can't say that LOL. I haven't scaled more than 2 loads all year.

I never scaled a load during my time there. They were sending me to a company that required me to scale first before loading and after loaded. I told them if they wanted the info, they could meet me at the scale and pay for it.
