I searched the WEB a bit and what i found that looked good was the pittsburh power computer and the PDI ECM..but i thought i would ask on here b4 i buy anything..any replys are welcome..

PDI is the way to go! Pittsburg Power modifies the out going signal out of the ecm, which is just adding fuel. PDI goes in and changes the way the ecm thinks adding fuel and TIMING. I am going to PDI tune mine just have not been able to meet up with them yet. I have their manifold on and I'm very happy with it.
Back to Pittsburgh Power I know 2 O/O that have used it with very bad results. They were both Detroits and run on full power. Both had to be overhauled the 1 only had 280000 on it. Washed the cyl. walls down with fuel.
Bully Dog is another you might want to look into. What I've read about them is positive but it cost $1150 more

Hi Ronny: Welcome to the forum. I believe you will find nearly everything you will need searching the forum. I have no first hand experience with Mr. Haney, but he comes with great credentials. And as you said, i believe PDI is doing alot to help us. As i said before, i would contact Mr. Haney. Leave a question here for him and i am sure he will see it within a day or so.
There will be other members that will have good advice for you...
Happy Independence Day to you and to the forum... david

Thanks alot for the reply, sounds like i might go with PDI aswell, i looked on bully dogs power pup a bit and it sounds like people gain better MPG with them but they only add 75hp which seems kinda low for the price they have on their page.

I'd go with a PDI stage 1 tune for the Acert......depending on how much power you want and whether you want a hidden file for warranty purposes will give you different power levels in a stage 1 tune. Anywhere from 680 hp to 725 hp at the flywheel depending on the base file used. I've seen fuel mileage increases of as little as .2 mpg and a few over a 1 mpg gain. The biggest issue I have with the CAT engines and doing any modification to them is liner protrusion. CAT has been setting the liners fairly low for awhile now....this causes issues with blown head gaskets and the liner sinking into the block. You can uprate your engine and never have a problem with this or you could leave it stock and have a problem. I like to tell people this is a CAT problem and can happen regardless of whether the engine is stock or modified. Whether you'd have a problem or not is anybodies guess.........I've seen them go till a million miles and I've seen them blow with less than 1/2 million and be stock.

Remove the stock mufflers and install Donaldson M100463 in there place. There are a few other things mentioned on this board to do also. replace primary fuel filter base.......fuel temperature wire.......raise fuel pressure to 115-120psi at 1500rpm

I still have the same 03 MBN with the stock files 500/1650 in it and was want to uprate to 550/1850-2050. Not looking to go extreme just want ried of the over boost defuel and crapy timing. What is the best way to meet up and get the programing fixed. I hate to have to put the truck down as I ship the ECM off somewhere. Is there anyone in ohio or surroundings that can do it?

Thanks for your usefull and clear answer, i made my desicion now going with PDI, i dont want anything in the high HP range i just want my 475hp to be around 600 and feel that it made a difference, my buddy has a 450hp single turbo cummins ISX and beats me uphill with same load..

About the liner protrusion you mentioned and blown headgaskets, sounds like i'll have to do something about it, Any CAT mechanic can make it right for me or should i want till it blows? the engine has 200,000 miles on it now.
