This I agree with 100%. Though I find errors with the TND700, I find the Qualcomm just as frustrating.

BTW I've found once I know the common quirks of the TND700 it's less of an issue.

Also as with any tool, map, gps or qualcomm, they all have errors. Just my 2 cents.

BTW, just finished my last 11 days out, zero errors Mark.

    Mark Kling Thanks this.

    Directly from Rand

Construction is for 30 days or longer, major construction, and priority
is given to Interstates, US and State highways which are high traffic
for trucks. Information regarding local town construction is often very
unreliable so it is best for drivers to follow local signage for that.

Rand's update process requires adding Rand's exclusive truck data to the
base map data used by our competitors. It takes Rand a bit longer for
that reason, but expect an announcement shortly.

    Thanks,

    Mar,

If you are still looking for suggestions, I would like to request a map scale/zoom range and the ability to see an entire multi point route all at once.

If you are in heading up or north up you will see the scale. No scale in 3D..

2nd item was a hot item for the suggestion list....

    Thanks,
    Mark

I will be at the Iowa -80 Jamboree... this Thursday and Friday.

If you have your TND, I can look at it if you are having issues.

A Dr. Pepper gets you to the front of the line at the Rand Booth,,,LOL :biggrin_25526:

    Thanks,
    Mark

I see the scale now that you tell me it is there, but the font is so small it is incredibly hard to see. I would like a slightly larger font if possible.

    Thanks

TND 700 goes bonkers when routed in Buffalo, NY

    Try
I-90 ex 55, US 219S, NY 179W, NY 5N to Tifft St Exit (turn right), Hopkins St (turn right) to 119 Hopkins St.

This is the best route heading in to shipper but TND 700 shows NY 5 not being authorized route or something to that effect and keeps trying to route me around it. It also has major problems in Chicago areas going into steel companies, who by the way have large trucks going in and out constantly.

I'm a flatbedder (KW900 280 wheelbase w/a 48' spread axle). I used to use Garmin Nuvi 350 (it does have truck option but doesn't really differentiate 2 ton tk to 80 ton tk. I winded up getting the TND 700 hoping that it’ll get that right. So far, it led me the wrong way coming out of Tuscumbia, Al heading toward Knoxville, TN in Decatur, Al – actually it was lagging behind and told me to bear left onto US 31 instead of Alt US 72. Also in OH turnpike westbound at exit 242 heading to Canton, OH from PA. It lagged behind a little in few instances and got past the exit or turning point before it caught it and had to get turned around. Over all it did come handy in few places and I got use to it.

    BTW – Mark
I can’t say how much I appreciated that you help me with the corrupted firmware issue when even RM tech support wasn’t willing. I received the SD and did as instructed and everything seems A O K but I winded up updating from different computer, I lost the previous settings. (no biggy) As long as I don’t have to go without it for extended time period I’m good. Hope you have good time at that Jamboree in Walcott. Thanks again.

Drivers, if you are you know someone whom has a TND, please update or remind them to update. I have come across 3 TND's here that have not been updated since Dec 09.

Updates are important, not only do they bring you up to date on construction or POI's, they update your version.

SO please pass the word to update via the TND Dock.

    Thanks,
    Mark
