go cool meaby cheap idling

My guess is that it works well. The size is a little large for a truck though, and the price is higher than I think it should be. Otherwise I would consider buying one.

 

Why not just fill a cooler with ice and put a fan on it???,.........That would be a whole bunch cheaper,..

 

Actually looking at the system it is not quite what I expected.
The main thing that it does is have a small pump to pull cold water from the cooler. This water will then be run thru a copper coil system and possibly a radiator type system. Then a fan blows over this.
Actually a good idea, but should not cost more than 150 bucks or so in it's base form. No need for all the bells and whistles.
It does not need any fancy electronics or thermostat or anything. Just a 2 stage fan and a small pump to run, and a cooler that can hold a few gal of ice water.

BTW, that 150 would be plenty to cover production, profit, materials and any and all advertising. They would sell like hotcakes. And would be able to run easy on 12v power.

I think a handy person could make one for well under 50 bucks,....

 

It's no different than when my mother use to put me in my rocker in front of a pan of ice with a fan blowing over it.

I'm with walleye on this one: just use a cooler with a fan.

Actually, the whole pumping cold water through a radiator is more like a real air conditioner, as long as you keep it replenished with ice.... It is definitely a neat idea. however, i could make one myself for about $50. Infact, i think i might...not for the truck but just for an experiment.

 

While at the great West Truck Show (Las Vegas) a few weeks ago, I met the folks from Go Cool. The unit really works ... and has an ROI (Return On Investment) in less than 45 days. At $500 and an operating cost of approx. $0.80 / hr (the cost of 4 bags of ice for 10 hrs) ... this certainly is an effective method of staying cool and not idling the truck.
