What was your job before trucking? And After?

I drove a cab. You talk about hazmat loads. One time, my passenger got arrested and that was enough of that.

 

As for me, Navy 5 years after High School, worked in Computers, Banking, decided White Collar jobs weren't for me, worked in a hospital, a warehouse and now back in banking..... going to school August 3rd for Trucking. Can't wait.

 

wow! a very interesting response. I would have thought oppositely. Doing the Lord's work sounds very fulfilling vs the isolation of driving a truck. Like a lot of drivers, I miss some of the normality of a non-driving life. Then a I see a beautiful mountain range in the fading light of the evening and forget all about the downsides of trucking.

 

I was a police officer

 

Prior to driving, I was a Coast Guard Aviator serving aboard a HC-130H. I retired from "The Knee-deep Navy" and became a State Trooper. I resigned after becoming state vested, due to increasing crime rates and declining benefit return (that means NO state pay increases). I took to the big road 3 years ago to travel and for the fun of operating a Big-Rig. I love it.

 

Grain/dairy farmer/ag equipment mechanic, trucker, US Marine, ag equipment mechanic/farmer, machinist/welder/farmer, factory worker (cnc work)/farmer/ag equipment mechanic SOON to be trucker again. After trucking? Hopefully after trucking there will be retirement and back to farming I shall go.

 

I did a lot of things before driving truck and quite a few things after. Just before I got into the seat, I was working at an auto parts warehouse delivering parts, pulling shipping orders, receiving, and several other duties. I worked for a national home builder after I got out of the seat processing new construction homes for building permits.
