i haven't heard anything bad about them so far. i'm trying to get trained with them but if you already have exp. they'll probably put you right to work.

I have heard rumors (unconfirmed) that there is a long waiting list at Maverick. They are slowing down hiring to wait out the current freight slowdown. Ask your recruiter for a realistic estimate of how long it will be from today until you get into your own truck.

Maverick is a very good company to work for if you like flatbeddin', which I didn't. Actually, my arthritis didn't.

that could possibly be my downfall as well. too many years with cold wrenches in my hands and working on concrete. sure takes it's toll on a body.

Hey y'all. Was just wondering if anyone knew much about the Maverick CDL program...
Being a company sponsored program, they don't charge the students to attend, do they? How long is their school? And if accepted into the school, is that like a "pre-hire" nod? Because I work a lot right now, I haven't been able to speak with the recruiter much, but got a call saying employment history was verified (which probably means they've already run DMV report and background check, etc.) and that I'll be called with a class date later. What does this mean to y'all? Call me simple, but I feel a bit lost...

Everything I've read about Maverick is positive, but just wanted to get input from others that may be familiar with this end of the process.
