I first became a truck driver to support my family and my kids in the beginning. Now i have been divorced five years, driving local thought i would see how it is being at home. Don't really like it and now im thinking about going back otr and talking to a couple of companies about getting back into driving.

I've always thought about wanting to do it.
However, my husband & I decided to change our lives. Our nest was empty....for the second time. I wanted to leave ministry very much and my husband was very tired of the job he held also. I also wanted to live near my oldest daughter, son in law and grandsons.
Simply put.....while on a 3 month sabatical taking care of my daughter during a serious illness I spoke to my husband about changing our lives. While apart for those 3 months and almost 2 thousand miles away from each other we both began to pray about it. We also agreed to not discuss it until I was home and not to discuss it all with anyone else. We asked God for certain items: to have far more time together, to earn good money, be able to travel some, to not be responsible for the spiritual needs of anyone else, and to be in circumstances that would make it impossible for us to take in any more children to raise. I came home after that 3 months and it took 2 weeks to get things back to normal at home and in the ministry. We sat down to discuss things and we both said "I think God's given me a pretty crazy idea". I turned to the computer and pulled up a website on trucking , he pulled out an article from AARP about trucking for seniors.
We began to look into it. And that is how we wound up being drivers.cookie278 and difference-maker Thank this.
