    Not just a hotel, amigo.
Folks who have been a guest at the crown jewel of lodging, courtesy of the sons of Chester, were speechless when asked how the accommodations are. When further pressed for an answer, it's not unusual for them to say, I can't begin to describe how much I appreciated all the attention given to every detail during my sentence, ............. uhhhhh, ......... that is, .........ummmmm,
what I meant to say was stay, ......... during my "stay" . I couldn't have asked for better treatment. They make that VERY clear right from the get-go
    .
    Thou mayest asketh
    But thou shalt not receiveth.

    Worse is "different", ................. right?

I am shopping around to buy my own truck. C.R. England will take me back
with my own truck. Lots of trucks for sale, guys with 10 yrs or so experience who own their trucks, would you send out some advice on what to avoid?
Will be beholden to you. I've been looking for about a year now. Big purchase, kind of frightening to get a lemon.:biggrin_2557:

OOOOPS, not going to England... and wondering why the word doesnt sink in = has
to be like the cigarette warnings,
"it's not going to happen to me."

If this site has a site on trucks for sale, send me a link plse. Thank you.

And Cowboy, I had a cdl and experience and it still didn't work out financially.
I don't know who to recommend you to, CRST messed with my paycheck so much I left, but they used to take beginners. Try smaller companies, if they know your name might be better than just calling you 'driver.' From a friend who went to Las Vegas, he did better driving tourists around then driving rigs.

Few words to all who didn't chose to sleep outside, this time of the year is nice, rather than stay in a pig pen: if you stand to stay in urine drenched matresses, bugs chewing you up, how can you expect any better later on? Honeymoon period always comes first..then it deteriorates, or don't you know this yet?

The 1970's computers, they been updated yet?

Oh my god, what happened to CowBoy1219, his last post was on location at the CR England "Hanoi Hilton" over a week ago, I surely hope that giant CR England hotel toilet didn't suck him through when he flushed.....it's been over a week, I'm waiting to find out what happened.....

the lease payment, repairs, mechanical upgrades and any other 'normal' business expenses related to running the truck, will be deductable.
The rule of thumb to ask yourself: does the expense contribute to creating a taxable income?
If the answer is yes, then it is most likely deductable.
Now the caveat: Tax deduction only means you give the money to someone other than the government. You don't get to keep it.
The advantage of tax deductions is where you can delay paying taxes and use that money to earn more money or to create an asset that will be taxable in the future, or one that would be beneficial to you and deductable.
An example would be the cost of a CB radio. Since you need it to communicate with shippers and recievers, it is deductable. However, if you enjoy using it to yak at other drivers, it's to your benefit.
Another example would be where you lease (or buy) a truck and pay a payment on the high side of value (but within IRS parameters). At the end of the lease you get a rebate of that extra money (or when you sell the truck if you purchased it). That money will be taxable, however, you were able to write it off and not pay tax on it during the term of the loan.
