Any info, good or bad, about Premier? I've seen enough of their trucks on the road so I know they're a decent sized company, but I don't know much about them specifically.

Hey there Josh.. Never driven for Premier but was looking at employment with them a few months ago. Did sound too bad , but I know most of what they do here in Indiana is haul for Homegoods out of Brownsburg, IN.. Homegoods is all hand touch freight. The pay for hand unloading wasn't great either. I wouldn't mind it if they paid good for it.. Their single insurance looked alright, but if you have a family its like 156.00. Its pretty high. They do have OTR and you run 7-10 days out.. Mostly Kmart in the South and like I said here in Indiana it would be alot of Homegoods.. Hope this helps.. Take care and good luck.

Premier is mostly hand unload retail accounts . They were doing TJ Maxx out of Evansville a couple of years ago but I've seen Averitt advertising for drivers for that account . Premier is real picky about applications . They gave me a hard time about not having employment dates exact for a job I had 10 years ago .

I was offered a job delivering locally, home everynight out of Nashville. I gave my job notice. My last day of work I called the recruiter to make sure everything was still on. She assured me it was. After I had left my job on the last day she called me and said the roster was full and I would not be able to go that week. I don't think they got enough response, because she had told me before that there were only two of us going to Georgia for orientation. Then she offered me a road job. My repeated calls to her supervisor went unanswered. The lies started even before I got the job. I would stay away from this kind of company.

Hey there MD2TN... Yea that sucks man! Seems like its harder and harder to find a descent company out there that doesnt lie about something or play games. When I dealt with Premier the last time they had my app for a two to three weeks.I was looking to relocate to GA at that time. Seems like everyone didnt really care if you applied or not.. After not returning my messages and repeated follow up calls the lady kept saying that they still hadnt looked at my app.. She even forgot that I applied. Then after a week or two wasted time she said that I didnt qualify for the position in GA however I did here in Indiana.. So after all this I was disgusted and to be honest probably wouldnt of went with them anyway.. Noone seemed organized.... That whole thing just steered me away from them for good.. Seems like alot of these people need to be fired and get people in these positions that actually do their job throughly and provide the driver with a decision within 2-3 days... I know that I'm not the only one applying ( as there are many apps ) and I am not even mad I didnt get the job I applied for, but is it to much to ask for someone to do their job and stay on top of things.. If you going to take a job doin something do it give 100 percent or just dont do it.. Hope you find a great opportunity.. Take care ...

That's ok because I took a job closer to home. I'm actually glad I found out how they were before I went to work for them.

Currently, they have an ad in the Evansville, IN newspaper for local & regional drivers. It says $875/wk minimum for the first 12 weeks. What happens after the 12 weeks??

For IN drivers it might be worth a call, at least.

Hi I have been here going on 11 years. Like most companies you can always find something wrong. But I consider Premier one of the better ones. From what I understand there is some driver assist at some of the retail acts some drop/hook and we have your normal driving around shipper unload. My act Kmart is all store unload no driver touch. My return loads are always drop/hook. If you touch it your always paid and the freight is easy. Hope this helps
Nimrod Thanks this. -
I can't believe they called me again a week later wanting to know if I am still interested in the job. I'm glad it's working for you 1457.

Don't know what happens after 12 weeks Elliott.
