The link is completely relavant as it shows correlation. Coming from one who witnessed the 'transformation' and have spoken with current and former ITL employees; the seamless 'transition' due to the same 'players' being involved at both ends is uncanny.
Let's not forget the IAM 'uncontract' in effect at ITL is basically what JHT was seeking at the last ATT contract negotiation. The IAM attempted to salvage the debacle by agreeing to a 'no strike' clause and doing away with 'delivery delay pay' meant to stabilize truck hauler's income due to consignees not open for receiving 24/7.
We remember this 'contract non negotiation' well as no one voted for it, yet it passed 'unanamously'.
The JHT - ITL 'connection' is clear. Go peddle your trash elsewhere.![]()

ATT is to return to hauling Internationals once more, a former IAM union rep., (wishing to stay anonymous) confirmed 7/16/2010 that due to Iron Tigers lack of professionalism during Iron Tigers probation period International has elected to resume their five year relationship with ATT.

Not sure of the 'five year relationship' you refer to? JHT Holdings replaced Teamster represented Active Transportation with Machinist represented ATT at U.S. Navistar locations in 2003; replaced ATT with ITL at the same locations in late 2009 into early 2010. Active still had the Chatham, ON Navistar contract but the factory had moved production to Mexico the last time I heard.
Under ITL, JHT division 'joke' Unimark along with outside carriers Bennett and Quality (and numerous other private contractors) were brought in to move single trucks - many 'driver only' and many others with 'towbars'. The decked sets appeared to be few and far between.
I would like to see the Navistar business come back to ATT but JHT Holdings is more interested in removing professional representation entirely (beginning with the effective Teamster representation) than with moving customer's trucks. The internal 'shennigans' are legion and legendary.

Funny just signed up and only post three replies, two of them on this thread alone. With the name shuttledriver, sounds like one of the Rolo guys and I have a feeling I know just which one it is. Just wonder why they would send me for a new physical Monday if ATT was taking back over. I don't see how someone is resuming a five year contract when one doesn't exist. As far as I know ITL was awarded a contract last month. Sounds like someone who has an ax to grind because they applied and didn't get hired so now they are pissed. Guess we will see Monday wont we.

Must have been Lee Cotton. Lee is a Good tranier and a good man.

Could you tell me how ATT/ACT/IT is doing these days? You don't have to paint it either way because, as you know, i'm a former ATT'er so i know how things are more or less and........
-
I can only tell you what I know.
The office staff at ATT was recently told they would be taking a 7% pay cut; many have already tendered resignations.
No contract negotiations. ATT has 'demanded' at return to the pay levels of the previous contract; basically what ITL is getting now in their contract. The IAM hasn't responded yet.
Total roster at Cleveland is down to 200 from the peak of 370 in early 2007.
Many are still laid off; don't have the numbers. Not many trucks are coming through the border at Laredo at the moment due to the damaged road system in Mexico as a result of the hurricane.
The current Laredo operation is being switched to San Antonio this fall. Unimark will move the decked sets from the current Laredo yard to San Antonio.
Nearly everyone is experiencing payroll 'shennigans' as we are forced to resubmit payroll items more than once in order to get paid. Many of these issues are turning into 'greviances' to be handled by the IAM.
Many people are being fired over trivial matters; many are rehired.
Many ITL people are being rehired by ATT. IAM representation at ITL is practically non existent. ITL is relying heavily on outside contractors to move single trucks. Not many decked sets.
Rumors fly, as they often do.

Ok, so what about lowboy?
-
The only lowboy activity with ATT at the moment is at Mt. Holly/ Cleveland as the Mt. Holly decking shop has been closed for some time. There is even a seperate area at Cleveland for the lowboy drivers to park the Mt. Holly trucks coming off of the trailers...
