sounds to me like the lowest line on the pole needs to pay. They are supposed to have a minimum clearance. Usually the cable company.

Ya the details are vague. The driver might have been on a road he wasn't supposed to be on. Also could have been a flatbed with a oversized load.

Correction: It does say chapel street. Sounds residential to me.

I did that in Texas a few years ago. There were some low hanging lines and my trailer caught them. Broke one pole in half. If it were not for the fact that the pole had a transformer that turned night into day when it blew I would of never known. I didn't feel a thing in the truck and I didn't hear the line slap the trailer. Luckily I used to do line clearance so I knew how to safely handle the situation until the cops and power company came out. When I hit that line, it was dark, I was looking for an address going about 25-30mph with the windows down and I didn't even feel or hear anything until the transformer blew. I didn't watch the video or know much on this situation, but I can honestly see how a driver going down a road, focused on other things, with the a/c cranked all the way or with a stereo on, could not have known that he did that, afterall it happend to me with the windows down in the middle of the morning with no other sounds to get in the way.

Now if he knew he hit it, and took off, then they need to pull his CDL. That could of killed somebody else and that's just chicken #### if he wasn't man enough to fess up. I didn't get a ticket or nothing when I hit the line. The cop was real cool with me, and said they should of had the line higher then 13.6. Wether I was right or wrong, I think the cop was just being nice because I pulled over and did the right thing by making sure no other people drove into the lines.

After watching the video, it is hard to imagine how the driver could not have seen or heard some of those poles coming down. It looked like a small tornado had gone down the street.

A white truck with the letters " A L " on the side. You would think after such damage, someone could have got a better description than that.

I agree on the point that something may not be adding up here.
