Hi, I'm in school and will be graduating soon. I have several offers from companies and will like your input in these companies: Carolina cargo, CRST, USXpress and Stevens.

I will really appreciate your help to make a decision.

    Thanks

You can get a general opinion here on what companies might be better than others but you have to decide what is best for you. I suggest you sit down and make a list of what you want and set some goals on where you want to go then pick the best company that fits your needs.

    Thanks GasHauler,
I have done that and i have a general idea of which company i want to go to. What I'm looking for, is drivers that have worked or are working on any of this companies and want to share there experience. It will be great if they have worked for more than one of this and can give the main differences.

I'm very happy with the school and I'm prehired in USXpress, Stevens and CDST, I heard very bad thing about Carolina Cargo and told the school not to apply with them.

I was with USX for only 8 month's. At first, I didn't think it was bad. Then every load was at least a "hot" load, then a couple "red hot's", then the ultimate, "super red hot"!! I was lied to on a number of occasions. The right hand never did know what the left was doing. I hired in with the premise that I would be doing mostly Canada loads. I went to Canada maybe 6 times. I don't think except for one guy on the weekends these people had a clue who I was. They'll take northern drivers in the winter and leave you there. Then when the weather gets decent again, guess what, you get to stay in the sunny south. These guys were dysfunctional at best. Directions? They're the worse joke in trucking. Most directions are so fragmented, I could hardly think it was even the same state, let alone many of them can leave a complete turn/road out. And respect for each other?:biggrin_2559:. Only if your one of the office weenies.
Just telling you what I saw.

Now Stevens, I never drove for them, but did talk to a recruiter that was so full of himself I felt like puking. He certainly instilled no trustworthiness in me. :biggrin_25513:

Sorry about being so negative, that's not the way I usually am.

But then again, you may be happy with either.

    Good luck driver!:biggrin_25525:

Thanks Johnday, For what i seen so far, there are no great companies out there, some are better that others. All of these companies that hire new drivers are start companies, get experience and get out.
For what i had gather i may go with Stevens and ride out for 1 year, then start applying.
By then i will have a better understanding of the trucking world.

mario, you sound like you've got a good attitude, do your best to keep it.:biggrin_25525:

Ya know, once you learn the reefer side, transitioning into dry van would be a piece of cake. You'll have a leg up on me, I've never driven reefers.:biggrin_25514::biggrin_25525:
