Call the main number 1-800-777-9100, ask for the recruiting department. they'll send you to the Salt Lake office. When you're asking, dont' ask for the Conley recruiter, just "recruiting department, please"
Then, once you have one of them, mention you submitted an application but the Conley recruiter hasn't gotten back to you. It should go from there. one of the SLC recruiters would be happy to have you to fill their quota. -
Personally? No, not if you have experience.
I say it for 2 reasons: first, if you have a class A CDL and any experience, the only way Central will want you is if you lease a truck from them. Or, they'll want you to go through their school again, and pay them for the pleasure.
Second, if you have a class A and local experience, you can probably get on somewhere that pays better, or has a regional/dedicated route.
Have you ever done the OTR thing before?JimBob24 Thanks this. -
Mikley gets busted trailers, I have a broken truck.
My truck's Air conditioning went out yesterday. In Fontana, in 100 degree heat. It was hotter in her than the air outside. So, after not a lot of help from OTR, we asked the Fontana guys to help us out. And one of them did, he was great.
After 2 hours of poking and prodding, he kicked the door panel, and voila! we had air conditioning.
Up front, anyway.
In back we had an oven. I'd say sauna, but it was a dry heat. Wouldn't cool down at all, was hot hot air. Funny buzzing noise from the under the bunk too. Mechanic takes a look, and his guess is the heater or expansion valve in the sleeper was stuck open, and couldn't be closed.
So, we're grounded until Monday. Provided they have the parts, and Manny doesn't waste a day having the next mechanic go through all the fuses and connectors like we did on Saturday. I don't know whether to go in early or just call, since we're in a hotel. Going in early means nothing, Manny will not be rushed for anything.
So, we lost 3200 miles in decent loads, and we're in a hotel because it's too hot to sleep in the truck... and we're paying for it because OTR would send us somewhere scary, and probably say first that the truck's sleepable.
I swear, back luck follows us around like a puppy. -
I'll probably see you tomorrow, as my #### truck's in the shop and I bet I'll be spending the day in the driver's lounge on my laptop. -
Ouch!! it was 116 in denton on Saturday. I guess the good thing about staying away from terminals. I get all my service and repairs done at the dealer. And im with you there on the bad luck! My truck runs good, its just the trl or the load is screwed up.
Then I have Cody giving me a preset that i might not make in time. Today he sends me a preset that picks up while im at Target getting unloaded to deliver on the 7/20. I tell him that im going to be late on the 99 if i accept and he just says "ok". WTF?!?! I am bumping my 70 and need to run from Cedar falls to Altoona to get this hole patched then back to waverly which is near Cedar Falls, pick up that load and then head to the J near Waterloo. nad wait until midnite and HOPE i have just enough time to get to Anderson, IN to drop at Nestle. Hell i dont even mac 6 anymore because it always seems to be ignored...lol. I dont mind the miles but jeez let me recoup SOME hrs at least from burning through them with all these tight ### appt loads with broken trls that i need to take to get fixed so the next driver doenst end up in my boat too.

Target = SuperValu = PLS Lumping Svc = bad news for me! PLS is known for unloading me in 20 min and giving paperwork 4 hrs later.

HAHAHA... Never fails. Sitting here at SuperValu... Er... I mean target. I get a QC from C/S my appt for my next 99 is 7/20 0030. Get Trl fixed 90 miles away then drive 70 to pick up load at nestle and drive 475 miles in the 4 hrs on my 70 left for today. Tonight I only get about 7hrs back.Last edited: Jul 19, 2010
