It seems like the DAC is nothing but a paid service that trucking compainies use to blacklist drivers. If false information can be placed on a DAC so easily what keeps the service legitimate?

Attention employers: We now require a valid DOT# for anyone wishing to post a driving position. If your job offer doesn't contain a DOT number, it will not get past moderation and will not appear in the forum. The other requirements in the sticky at the top of this section are still required as well. Thank you for understanding.
If you decide to leave orientation ....

Credit reporting agencies like DAC Services answer to the FCRA (Fair Credit Reporting Act) which is regulated by the Federal Trade Commission. -
So there are some regulations in place. Still seems the service is a little loose on what is a legitimate complaint about a driver. Like the original post. Orenitation is just that. A driver might find out something or hear something he doesn't like and decide to leave. The company shouldn't be allowed to put short-term employment history on his record. That's stupid. Personnaly I would quit after the trainer made the threat. If they can't make it through orientation without threating drivers that's a bad sign.
-
Well if they regulate it I think they need to put more attention on the matter. And not like the BBC does with these get rich quick scams that are everywhere. After all it's only someones lively hood at stake.

If I remember right DAC pays a company $3.00 for the report of the driver. Then they turn around and charge $8.00 or $10.00 to the driver requesting the report. I think it is 8 bucks, but have not ran mine in awhile. Nice liitle profit they got going on there. You can get a free report once a year if you meet the requirements. When you get the report it has the (FCRA) guidelines with it.

The stories I've heard about how some of these trucking mills abuse the DAC, it seems the more legitimate companies would recognize this and ignore these reports.
-
Mine Ignores it! I asked one of the owners once, Did you ever run my DAC? He said, what's that?
-
lol, that's good.
I'm new to all this. It's hard to get the big picture on how all this works. I can understand how drivers can get disgruntled about this. #### I haven't even been on the road and I get pissed just reading some of this stuff.
It's like a rollercoaster ride. You read something good and you can't wait to get into the job. Then you read something bad and it's like, do I really want to risk it. I've been here long enough I'm able to pick out the BS from the real information. -
I hear yea, it's not all bad. But there is some dirty company's out there. Several remind me of a bank or collection agency, or just topical scammer. The forum helps to weed those company's out.

LOL, me too! Just keep reading the Good Companies thread. Then check these out..
