What a tragedy that coulda been avoided on so many levels ...yes better planning on the part of the driver that ran out of fuel....and what can be said about the other driver not being in control of his/her rig. A tragic shame

So is this the point when you call a dump truck instead of a tow truck?

I don't know how else to say this
But running a big truck out of fuel is inexcusable.

there are special circumstances sometimes. but for the most part, yes.

i had a co-driver run outta fuel once. she woke me up and im like......why didnt you get fuel?

we were 10 miles from a fuel stop and the gauge wasnt even on the red part yet...lol. I do think she was an idiot, but then again....

And on most trucks you can drive atleast 100 miles with it all the way on empty...very strange.

I ran out of fuel once. One of my fuel tanks had been shut off and it pulled outta one until it was empty. It was the one the gas gauge was not connected to, and it was only a 400 mile load, i should have been able to make it..

I had one truck that the gauge did not work at all. The tank had an anti siphon screen on it. My xray eyes did not work very well. Kind of hard to figure how much was in it.
