Attention employers: We now require a valid DOT# for anyone wishing to post a driving position. If your job offer doesn't contain a DOT number, it will not get past moderation and will not appear in the forum. The other requirements in the sticky at the top of this section are still required as well. Thank you for understanding.

Long island is pretty long----where exactly do u live?
+plus why limit yourself to long island when the NYC/NJ metro area is, depending on where you live, on your doorstep with jobs bursting out the door?
-
I live in Port Jefferson, middle of Suffolk County. NYC/NJ would be a long commute. Im leaning more toward OTR but it seems like Long Island isnt in anyones hiring area
-
Hmmmmm.......that is pretty far out there. How far are you from JFK?--maybe try Schenker's.
i'll get back to you because i'm thinking of making a move to the NYC/NJ metro area (and/or L.I.) but it may take a while because i'm lame.
The other thing is, if you're planning on otr would it really make a diff if the company was on L.I.? -----because you'd be out for days at a time.
-
thanks for the responses. Im about 60 miles from JFK, but with all the L.I. traffic its about a 2 hour drive. I know L.I. has nothing to do with the OTR thing, My question is that how much of a pain in the ### would it be for a company to get me routed home every few weeks. Being a newbie im probably going to have to join one of the b.s. companys. Thanks again.
