I-470 interchanges at I-435 closed because of sinkhole​

The state Department of Transportation has closed a section of Interstate 470 in the Kansas City area because of damage from a sinkhole.

The department said Saturday it has closed the westbound I-470 interchange to westbound Interstate 435, as well as northbound Route 71 to westbound I-435 at Three Trails Crossing. The department said it had earlier closed a lane in the same area after a routine inspection revealed ground settlement beneath the highway.​

They are hoping to have the road opened by mid September.

 

They got the bridge repaired and the road is open.
