There are many companies who hire people with no experience, the failed drug test can hurt you. My Advice if this company is doinking you for this is to get creative.

 

Couple of questions here. But first...an obvious statement.

You've been out of school too long. You will need a refresher to qualify for employment.

Was this drug test given by a company subject to FMCSA rules ? Or was it a some other job, that got you canned?

Unless a company wants to get sued. It's doubtful they would offer this information freely. They would simply give a "Do not re-hire" designation to prospective employers. So putting that job on an application, wouldn't necessarily disqualify you from being hired. Unless your former employer is on a scorched earth campaign against you.

A trucking company simply wants to verify your past employment and past drug use.

You could omit the job, from your application if it was a job outside of transportation. You would have to cover the time frame with something though.

But you've obviously let the cat out of the bag, and have this failed test listed on apps at several companies now. Not good.

They will ask if you've ever failed a drug test. But they most likely will not have anyway to confirm or deny your response.

So we have a dilemma here. You used drugs, really a common thing. But we don't like drug users in the industry, it's too #### dangerous.

Are you done? Are you sure you're done ? If not...take a long walk.

i need some help should i just go local or otr i want to go otr but after swift not sure i do have a chance at a local job doing store to store any advice? will it screw up my OTR latter or will it be abetter way to learn for me?

 

Don't know what to tell you. I don't know your circumstances.

I will tell you. Driving local, will affect your ability to go OTR later down the line. Companies may require you to second seat for awhile, or get additional training.

OTR companies do not view local as OTR experience.

It won't stop you from getting an OTR job in the future. But it will severely hinder your efforts.
