Attention employers: We now require a valid DOT# for anyone wishing to post a driving position. If your job offer doesn't contain a DOT number, it will not get past moderation and will not appear in the forum. The other requirements in the sticky at the top of this section are still required as well. Thank you for understanding.

my first road trip last week went pretty good. started out going to Richmond, Va. And ran to Michigan then finished in Gouscester City, NJ, then home. I also learned some very interesting things about logging hours.
I guess it's not so bad sleeping in the truck, you don't really hear the other truck traffic around you.
Oh and some of the truck drivers out there are just as bad a the four wheelers. -
Glad its working out for you!

I get home almost every weekend. Read my thread Heading to Little Rock over in the Maverick forum.

Did not see that you got on with someone. Best of Luck to you! -
Finished training last week.
Got my first load yesterday to NJ...of course the truck they assigned to me had some minor issues like convex mirror needed fixed and one tire was flat..nothing like starting out the week behind waiting to get fixed...you think they would have fixed it while I was in training knowing I was going out on my own on Mon..oh well that's trucking I guess -
Suck it up! Stop complaining!! You sound like one of those whiney arse sniveling truck drivers!!! Btw congrats on getting the job. Now keep your nose clean, your mouth shut(unless your harassing someone on the Cb) And watch your step(they pee in the parking lots)

i start my training on monday with nick strimbu, i hope everything goes
well with that company, i heard that is a nice company with good benefits... -
perez05pr.... when done training are you staying in Brookfield or running out of Dover, Ohio?
Ins is Blue Cross/Blue Shield and dental is United Concordia, my ins just started this month.
It's wierd I worked for a refuse comapny before doing this jig and we were union and we paid union dues and had benefits that we didn't have to pay for and here at Nick's we have to pay for both union dues and benefits and Starting in Jan our benefits pay rate goes up 6% more to us.
Since this his my first OTR company I can't compare it to anything but they seem like an okay company, everyone seems nice and they are quick about trying to repair your truck if it breaks down, giving you the time off when needed..... -
just my 2 cents worth watch out for the canandians + the towel heads. some of them can't drive worth ######. you already know about the 4 wheelers..................
