A dispatch fee is basically an administration fee. It can be a set sum that is taken off your truck earnings to help pay for office staff, or whatever. Or it can be a sum that is taken off as a percentage of your earnings. For some small companies, they may take 8 to 10 percent of your earnings as that fee. So it can range anywhere from 8 to 10 percent of your gross. You can also pay 8 to 10 percent of your gross as a trailer rental fee too is a company does not have its own trailers and is renting them. Basically, with the dispatch fee, you are paying for the privilege of working for the company.
