As an electronic technician, I always had much respect for any engineer that would come down from "on high" to the production floor and ask us how it was going. Most of them we never saw, but sometimes I went to see them. I really appreciated the ones that were willing to explain how a particular circuit worked that they had designed.

Some folks like Werner and some don't. I guess there isn't a perfect trucking company.

But I can't act like I'm smart or know a lot about trucking (and I don't) because a lot of folks will start screaming at me. I'll just say that I read where a driver said don't ever worry about how much time you take when you're backing. Don't worry about what other driver's think if you are holding them up. And this lady said get out 100 times if you have to when you're backing. I'm not trying to act like I'm smart, but tha'ts just what I read somewhere on a trucker blog.

Our instructors told to take the time we needed, plus a little more. They said get out and check at least once more than you thought you needed. All those people wanting you to hurry aren't going to help you pay for damages after you hit something and none of them are going to give you a job when you get fired for hitting something.
I plan on following their advice.

the only opinion I have is I just find it kind of wierd at the amount of some of the post some have. I've seen some people with like 10,000 post and have been members for like 2 to 3 years thats an average of 9 to 10 post a day. How much driving are they getting done.

this question/accusation always makes me laugh! How long does it take to type up a post. Well, depending on the amount of research done, one single post in say politics, or having to do with a mechanical question, and doing it the right way, posting links and referencing all the research could take some time. but the average post is generally two or three sentences, so the average would be 2 or 3 minutes...now I have made some lengthy posts, and I do drive my 2700-3200 miles every week...no problem. I don't require 12 hours of sleep, only 6 or so, and i am ready to roll...so I have 4-6 hours available most everyday for posting and reading.

so is it written somewhere, that a driver who is really making good miles, good $$$, must max out their log every day, every week,...then what do you do with the 34 hours to restart the log????

    POST...POST...POST! THEN POST AGAIN!!!
