My trainer had a dedicated route out of Dallas. He would pick me up Sunday night and drop me off Friday afternoon at the pilot. That seemed like the longest walk during the heat of Texas July and August hauling my duffle bag of laundry. The guard never asked questions as long as I showed my ID. It was the van drivers busting my balls saying that my trainer would be fired if Werner knew he was dropping me off there to avoid safety lane. They were good guys anyway. They reminded me of the two guys from the muppets that sat in the balcony.

How hard is it to get a load to SC? I know. Why would anyone in their right mind want to go the armpit of the south? Well, I'm thinkin of bustin out west with y'all and was wondering how often I might get back.

Werner is sending a Recruiter to the school I am attending on the 12th. I'm interested in what they have to say. I think it is fortunate for me to live so close to Fontana. It seems that every National Carrier has a yard here. The school has a steady parade of Recruiters.

I'm interested in what they have to say. Anxious to get to work again even though I have never done this type of work yet.

Thank you for your original post. It helped to offset so many negative comments about Werner. Most people complained about Werner but few actually knew why.

On a very happy side ... it appears that the Fontana Werner terminal just received a big bunch of new rides .....

Well, just MY 2 cents worth. So far, Werner hasn't done me wrong. Been with them only 6 months, but things have been good from the get-go. I have the best dispatcher. I got a 09 387 Pete. I average about 2000-22000 a week running south regional. I take all loads, crappy shags and all, but get rewarded with decent ones also.Never had a problem getting anything repaired. As of this moment, my apu a/c isnt working. My disp is putting me up in a hotel wherever i'm at until we can get it fixed. Is Werner perfect? Not by any means. But I'm happy here. Get home whenever I want. I usually stay out 5 wks and go home for 3 days, my choice. Can go every 2 weeks if I choose. I'll help with any questions also if I can. Just trying to help.

If you want my opinion werner is a grade a joke. I have 7 months experience. Running the northeast and to south carolina. The guy i drove for is a good friend and if things dont work out with swift then ill go back to him but anyways. Here's my little exp with Werner. I started driving for my friend back in january the end of jan to be exact. He bought me a brand new 389 Pete. Like say ran n/e and sc. I told him i wanna go otr and he said well i dont have anything told me to contact werner so i did. I put my application in on a thurs and they called me the next day talked to the recruiter told him what i had been doing as far as driving. Well after we get all done he insulted me by telling me i have to go out with a trainer for 8 weeks. So i returned that statement by asking him when the last time he had a cat scan was. He told me that i have to go out because of the fact that they guy i drove for operates primarily from a cell phone due to the fact that he drives himself and they cant verify him with a cell phone...well last i checked if they weren't so #### lazy they could pick up a phone call my boss and ask for his DOT number just SWIFT did. So here i am going to harrisburg pa monday to work for swift with NO TRAINER. As far as im concerned werner is a joke

This is why you are getting the treatment you are.

If you took home time every 2 weeks your story would change.

    Try it and see.....

What exactly did you say to get your APU fixed and put up in a hotel???

My bf's been with Werner a year. 6 months into it [FEBRUARY] his APU broke, which means no heat.

Twice he's been to the PA terminal [because he is a northeast regional driver] and it took at least 3 days both times for them to look at it, he had to pay for his own hotel and both times that they said they fixed it they didn't so he just layered up in extra shirts and blankets all winter long.

After 2 attempts at fixing it and about 6 days un paid while shelling out for a hotel (about $30 a night) he gave up on ever trying to fix it and now only uses the APU for airconditioning - but winter is coming around again and I really wonder what he's going to do this year? He's fed up with the PA terminal so he's expecting just to suffer, no other alternative.

I'm not completely bashing Werner - other than terminal related issues we've really had no problems. It just sux. He got a new truck and the heat broke in a few months and he had to freeze all last winter. And it's looking like the same thing this winter and forever more until he drives enough miles on his current truck to get another one...

All I said was I haven't slept but 3 hours in 2 days and he took care of it. Dispatchers have some leeway with things like that. I just got repaired about 3 hrs ago and im on a split break to make my delivery. Also, I did go home every 2 weeks to start with. Stayed Friday morn until Sunday night. 1 day home for every 6 out. I decided to go longer for more pay in the checks. I'm getting 27 cents right now and have gotten mileage bonus checks for the last 3 months. You just have to give a little. Just tell your husband to talk to his dispatcher, in a normal conversation, and explain about his lack of sleep. See how that goes. Also, my dispatcher hates terminals. Says they take to long, so we get things done through repair breakdown. Hope that helps
