Tracy that works for some, some companies do not want split logging, which is a joke and means that their log people do not know jack.

You can thank FMCSA for that. we used to be allowed to log that way LEGALLY and not be penalized for taking that nap. But they decided that us stoopid twuck dwivers were not smart enough to know when we needed to sleep so now we have to drive and sleep when we are told by the paper pushers regardless if tired or not! Remember Safety first!!!! :biggrin_25513: Stay in line and follow the leader, any stray sheep will be shot on site! :biggrin_2556:

I dont agree with running a trainer/student as a team. Anyhow, its safer to run illegal when the 14 hour rule forces you to run when you are tired, when you could have broken the law and taken a nap and not been tired at all. I also have no problem at all with sleeping for a couple hours and driving instead of taking a full 10 hour break, if i should wake up and cant sleep.

    That too.

    hahahahaha

If you stop and take a nap every time you hit traffic how are you getting any miles? You have done it this way for 19 years? Sorry, I don't mean to sound like I am bashing you. Log exactly what you drive as you are driving. When you are done for the day re-write your logs and just match them to your speed average. try around 53-55mph. This is not illegal. They don't know that you sat in traffic and don't have too! All that napping has got to cost you a lot of miles a week. Good luck you now have a money making formula!

I was wondering the same thing. In the oilfield I have pulled many 36 hr shifts and turned in my fair share of ficticious logs. Since I am thinking of going over the road, I was wondering how many drivers keep two log books. The drivers I have talked to seem to run about 75% to illegal logs, but that may be why the are not over the road anymore. Personally a ten hour day sounds like a blessing.
