Sorry man, you don't have x-ray vision. You get as ####y about it as you are and you're just the next accident waiting to happen.
-
My accident free MVR does not agree with your opinion.

Really so you slow down no mater what they do, you will not be involved in a wreck? What do you do if you have like two people coming from two sides? Or like 10 cars trying to jocky around you? do you just stop and close your eyes waiting for it all to go away?
And while I try to anticipate what the cars around me are going tobe doing (its acualy fairly predicatable if you have been driving long enough) Which has saved me from geting into a wreck. The only true way I could see you avoiding every and all wrecks would be to not drive near anyone else. Course even not driving wont prevent a wreck as you still have the idiot who decides he wants to back up on the fuel island and hits your hood.
We do adjust the best we can. However that nice safe following distance we leave out there appears tobe the perfect location for some aggresive driver that feels he can shave 5 secounds off his drive time by jumping infront of me. At which point in time the driver has two options. Either maintain his postion, or back off to maintain a safe following distance. However this last part causes the traffic behind him to hope over and go around then jump infront restarting the cycle. So now the drive is constantly having to slow down. These slow downs and speed ups, coupled with lower average MPH, Affect the amount of miles a driver gets in a day and the amount of MPG he gets.
I gota tell ya there have been a few cases where a car has hoped 5 or 10 feet infront of me and sat there. And I continued at my speed maintaining that dangerous following distance. My feeling is, if they want to get themself killed so be it. There not going to waste my driving time today. -
Ruges how much extra time you got for accident reports? And looking for a new way to make a living. They bust you for tailgating in a truck it will be reckless driving even if you don't hurt someone.
-
You have never driven a truck in your life have you LOLouterspacehillbilly Thanks this.

The fact that your MVR doesn't cover anything past today backs up my opinion. So do quite a few news reports of drivers just like you that ended up on the front page.

Hmmm, lets see now. So its my fault, that I had just got on the highway, was in the middle lane of a 3 lane hiway, traffic in the right lane was slowing down, I'm slowing down and trying to move to the far left lane, and a 4 wheeler justs pulls right out in front of me with no warning and I rear end him? Thank god I had 3 cars pull over, gave me their cards, and said call us if you need a witness. This guy has been driving erractically for over 40 miles now.

If you could have in anyway avoided having a collision and not do it I think you used poor judgement. We all get in these predicaments it is how we choose to deal with them that makes a difference.
I can think of several times when I have been challenged by a four wheeler.I have learned for me it is well worth my time to just pull over and let them get out of sight. To me this beats collecting witness reports, doing the paperwork, and waiting the years it takes for it to be a non-issue.Markk9 Thanks this.
