Well yeah, but yaguys speak English down there. sorta...:biggrin_25525::biggrin_2559:

A couple of things to reply here. First and foremost, you are probably having problems because you actually DO want to do what is right, and "keep things legal." I have an acquaintance whose wife is Canadian. They had a very long drawn out legal process to get her to be legal here. And the last I heard she was still trying to become a US Citizen.

The second thing is that so many areas of the country have just let the legal/illegal status go by the wayside. Particularly California.

And then you have the media adding to the mix, with their constant attempt to keep things in an "AMAZING STORY COMING UP RIGHT AFTER THE BREAK" mode. They don't give a #### about truth or accuracy, or anything else, as long as those ratings are up there and the advertising dollars keep rolling in.

Ah but she did uphold the most important parts of the bill, the law enforcement officers can still detain, investigate and enforce. Further no policies of sanctuary by any city, or department will be allowed under penalty of this law. To simplify, the verbiage that says an officer SHALL has been stayed. The officers ability to investigate if he wishes has not.

There is quite a lot to this but that's the readers digest info for now.

    all the best,
    Joe

I agree. If a driver cannot speak english, how does anyone know whether he truly comprehends highway and road condition signs etc? There's already enough for truckers and everyone else to contend with on the road. Relative to this...It's rather comical to see people wearing T shirts with statements on them- you know darn well they have no idea what it says... let alone what it means. It's international law all pilots speak english. Why should driving be any different?

There was a confrontation a long time ago...The winners spoke english and that became the accepted language of the land.

To the victor go the spoils!

When you can make us pack up and leave...Let us know!

I just want to know who is passing the guys that can't read or speak english. My test was in english and only offered in english and I had to answer questions in english on the driving test. she asked things like "at what air pressure does the alarm go off?" I don't see how a nonenglish speaking driver can get thru it? I know they do! but how?

Forget non-English speaking drivers, since getting back on the road I have met more non-english speaking gate guards at these consignees! When I have to say "huh?' or "excuse me?" 5 times during a conversation something is clearly wrong.
