Hello all, I have read alot on here about many different companies. It is almost overwhelming with the amount of info that is on here. That being said it is very hard to filter your search for current posts about a particular question and/or topic. So if this is a repost of a previous question I am sorry. I did search!!! lol... Well I applied for a job at USA Truck and my application is being reveiwed. I have to call the DA again tomorrow about the results. I will have no problem with background/drug/MVR checks. I have had only 1 wreck and 1 ticket in my life. Im 30 by the way.....My concern is the DOT physical. I was diagnosed with mild sleep apnea about 2 years ago. So mild in fact my doctor left it up to me if I wanted to try a machine or not. I opted to try it. I used it for 2 days and have not used it since. Also 3 years ago I had ACL reconstruction. Will any of these disqualify me? Do I even have to disclose this info to them? How would they find out if I did not mention this? I just do not want to get turned down once I have quit my present job to go to CDL school. Oh yeah I will not quit my job until USA says they accept me. Also I hear about people getting booted during/after oreintation. USA has oreintation after the CDL has been obtained. What is this all about? Thanks in advance for the posts!!

Attention employers: We now require a valid DOT# for anyone wishing to post a driving position. If your job offer doesn't contain a DOT number, it will not get past moderation and will not appear in the forum. The other requirements in the sticky at the top of this section are still required as well. Thank you for understanding.
I applied for usa truck

I don't see the health issues to be a problem, what you mentioned doesn't sound serious enough to keep you from getting your DOT card.

Why give up your cushy job at FedEx to drive? Just guessing. From what I've read on these boards, a company's "pre-hire" to you means nothing. They can boot you for any reason at any time--especially if you are going through one of their schools. If this is something you really want to do, I would go for it. Just be advised jobs are HARD to find right now. I'm 53, and I've never seen jobs this tight in all my life. But that doesn't mean you couldn't find another one or get your old job back if trucking didn't work out for you. There are guys who do this for 2 or 3 months and then just walk away from it and say trucking just wasn't for them.jbutcher23 Thanks this.

And you may think you have nothing to worry about...........
Background, MVR, Credit, Drug checks have been known to get screwed up !!!!!
It's always best to run your OWN check first !!!jbutcher23 Thanks this. -
If they find out about your sleep apnea or you declare it, you will need between 2-4 weeks of treatment/therapy verified from an independent source via your cpap's smart card that you are using it for at least 4 hours a night to get your DOT physical card, otherwise it is up to you about what you tell to whom.

usa truck told me after i got my prehire- and (today i passed my drivers test by the way) was considering orientation.. that they take the prehire back because they aren't hiring women at this time.
-
// I bet this will piss the women drivers off BIG TIME
-
maybe. it didn't bother me too much. they weren't really my number 1 draft pick. although, i don't think any of these big companies are anymore. lol.
-
Good luck on what ever you decide to do friend.
jbutcher23 Thanks this. -
im leased to usa was a company driver for 3 1/2 years the dot physical is a pice of cake however if there is a record of u having sleep apnea they'll find it its best to till them if its mild then it shouldnt matter that much
