I was just reading over you thread and I was hoping you could answer a couple of questions for me.

    1) It was hard to determine from your posts exactly how long you were with your trainer. I thought I remember seeing on their website that the time spent with a trainer is not etched in stone. Is that true?

    2) I'm from Griffin GA, and my training school has given me an application for May. I must assume that I live in or near one of their freight lanes or at least reside in their hiring area. Do they have a terminal or a drop yard in the Atlanta vicinity? Taking the truck home would not be possible.

    Thanks in advance!

Congratulations on going solo! Enjoy the Pete!

    1) I was with the trainer 3 days. It is not etched in stone, it is up to you. Average is 2 weeks but they dont like to see you out there more than 4 weeks.

    2) There nearest yard would be Pensacola, FL. Either way they dont want you parking your trucks at home.

    Good luck!

Thanks for the info. I live in one of those planned communities. They won't let me bring a rig in here anyway.

Pensacola is close enough. I'll send in my application tomorrow.

Good luck with your new adventure. Keep posting. It helps all of us learn about May. Stay safe!

Hello all i just wanted to stop in and say HI, i currently drive for may and so far im happy with the company. I run the 11 but my only complaint is my miles are starting to drop but it could also be because my dm is no longer with the company so i have a temporary dm untill i get a replacement. I have talked to the terminal manager and things are starting to look better. i average 2300-2500 miles a week. communication is key and to comment on the drive test and backing skills just remember if your not familier with a 13 and miss a gear DO NOT PANIC just recover ASAP and when backing after you set up Get Out And Look!!!! Good luck to all!

Do you know where the freight lanes are in the southeast? I would have to use Pensacola as my home terminal.

Some companies partition up their fleets (48 OTR, southeast regional, dedicated, and so on). So if I were to come on board, living in GA, I would be based out of Pensacola. Will I be running all 48, or are there assigned freight lanes for those who drive out of Pensacola?

Pensacola is a 48 state terminal.. the refer side
Dry box is Western 11 and refer is 48 state.
May to the best of my memory does not have any real dedicated routes.
