Attention employers: We now require a valid DOT# for anyone wishing to post a driving position. If your job offer doesn't contain a DOT number, it will not get past moderation and will not appear in the forum. The other requirements in the sticky at the top of this section are still required as well. Thank you for understanding.

Thanks all so much for the suggestions! Well my application was denied because the DA said USA was not accepting applications at this time. I find that hard to believe because the job posting was posted the same day I applird. The DA was pushing real hard for PAMs team position. I told her that I was not interested. I will look for other companies to apply to. Any suggestions would be nice. How does Prime Inc. work? It seems like a good gig.

PRIME, SWIFT, the Great Orange Pumpkin all are miles ahead of USA, They have done you a favor that later you may write them a thank you letter for..... This is great for you, be happy things are looking up.Tucker the trucker and jbutcher23 Thank this.

Regarding Prime: It all depends on whether you go lease or company. I understand company drivers get their butts run off, but they have to maintain a certain MPG on the truck or they will get fired. The lease program works for some, but not for others. Mine worked just fine until the beginning of this year, then it went to ....well, you know the end of that one. It all depends on who your fleet manager ends up being. Some of them will run you until your payments are current for the week then shoot you a crap load, others will do everything they can to make you as profitable as you can be. They all run on electronic logs, so that may crimp your style a little. However, if you've never had to keep a log book before, you won't know the difference.
I left Prime and went back to Swift. The truck payments are almost half of what Prime's was, they have more trust in their drivers and they do not have e-logs. Company drivers are forced dispatch, lease and o/o are not. So far, I like it just fine here. I have the driver manager I asked for, the truck I asked for and even the color I wanted. Again, your driver manager has your paycheck in his or her hands. Get yourself a good one if you can.
The thing to keep in mind is every company, large or small, is going to have its own brand of BS. It just amounts to what kind of BS you're willing to tolerate.Everett and jbutcher23 Thank this. -
Thats funny right there! Yeah I have researched Prime now and they seem like a good choice. The traing period is almost 6 months which I like. -
I can put up with a lot as long as it dont effect my check. Thanks for the advice!!Everett Thanks this.
