I left St.Thomas in'82 The station I worked at was changing format to easy listening and I just didnt fit that mold.....still don't:biggrin_25523: The nI heard it change to ...get this...WGOD! I swear to god, they went religious and actually had the nerve to use that as their call letters. I dont know if the station still exists...but you are right small market radio is very cool, maybe that' why I like the cb so much I get to chattering on that sometimes and it takes me back

And hopefully cars will learn to stay clear of big rigs in corners and on and off ramps...

If I had a family in a car with me...I sure would steer clear of all and any big trucks to the best of my ability...

So now you are saying that this is the cars fault for being in a lane of his own next to the truck? This is a 2 lane ON ramp. It could not possibly be that the truck was passing them???? What a ridiculous comment.

Percentage wise I see equal amounts of bad drivers with cars and big rigs. I mean if the speed limit is 70 and there is less than 1 car length between my back bumper and your 70000 lb front bumper you need to be parked. I ran into this recently on a bus ride when the driver was doing 65 in a construction zone and had less than one car length from the car in front. I said something about it and she said we were fine. I then asked if 1 car length distance on a 30000 pound vehicle was enough. following distance increased for the rest of her drive. It was only one lane with a semi in front of the car and they were not going to go any faster. I was in the 3rd seat behind the driver and could not see the bumper on the car.

Not always is it the driver of the truck that is at fault but they do have a target on them. Personally if I am being ridden like that(car or truck) I slow down so that I have more reaction time to things in front of me and thus giving the person riding my bumper more time also. Plus I know it really pisses them off.:biggrin_2559: Just an added benefit. 2 to 5 mph usually does it.

Sorry for the rant but trying to blame this on the car was just stupid. That is like saying you should avoid green lights because someone once ran one. As long as you are in a place that the driver can see you, i.e. not in the blind spot, there is no reason to avoid big rigs.

    Sorry for the rant.

I wasn't blamming it on the car...you choose to read into my comment in your own way....

You added a lot of insinuations to my comment, that were not there....
You should always ask someone for clarification on what they mean, rather than creating your own meaning.

What I meant was...when or if I'm in a car...my main objective is to 'live'...to make it home...

If that means I have to be extra deligant and careful and or yield when around big trucks...than so be it...

My ego will never get in the way of safety....
