I'd find out who that company is and report them to the DOT for being unsafe. If they actually designed a system to do that to a truck they should be shut down.

I watch ramps carefully from a distance. If I can get over safely, especially to preserve my safety zone, I signal and do so. I had a new S.W.I.F.T. driver tell me once he was told by a trainer never to change lanes because he was the one in the right. I told him that driving safe was the most important thing and that a driver can be right and can also be "dead" right. I advocate a smooth flow of traffic so all can be safe.

That always makes me shake my head. How people refuse to get over when it is clearly safe to do so. I always attempt to get over for someone coming on regardless if I'm in a truck or personal vehicle. It's common courtesy.

Good. Then you take safety seriously, just like most drivers do. It just floors me that even the DOT and state police tell drivers how to safely reenter the highway and you still see these people pull out from a dead stop.

I also noticed that when they do that and drivers scream at them about how unsafe that was, they never reply which tells me that they knew they screwed up and/or they don't care

I've always looked ahead at on ramps so I can get over if it's safe. It amazes me how often when I do this, somebody behind me will swing out on my right to get around me, thus causing the person on the on ramp to slow down, rather than be able to enter safely. If the people behind me would wait 15-30 seconds, I'm going to get right back over out of their way. *Shakes head in wonder*

What? Wait 15-30 seconds? You just have NO concept how much time that amounts too, and the number of things that can be done in a time frame that long. Why, I could likely text 20 figures, stab myself in the eye with my mascara brush, swat the kids two or three times, read a complete paragraph in my National Enquirer. That story about the women born in the UFO is big news. Don't you realize how much of MY time YOU wasted?:biggrin_25510::biggrin_25510:

Rules are made for the obedience of fools and the guidance of the wise. Problem is that we all think we fit in to the latter. This practice shows otherwise. To the officers that issue tickets for common sense all I can say is that there is no tablet for stupid.
