Sorry it has been a bit since I updated this. I had my home time from 7/2-7/7 back on road went from PHX to SFS to Denver to Helena. Sitting here now. Need a few final things done to my truck so taking advantage while I am here.

Been a few days again. Busy running hard, Lots of miles. I am enjoying the job the pay checks are awesome so far so good I track everything and they are spot on. If anyone is looking at trucking I would recommend Watkins Shepard in a heart beat. A Crete driver is parked by me tonight and said his miles were cut and they are getting fewer and fewer miles.

So tell us more about your Volvo, I know W/S fleet is made up of them. What kind of specs? :780? ,Eng? ,10-Spd or Auto Shift? ,Governor Speed? Is it easy to make the bonus cents after the shop time? Thank you for the Info & Thank You for sharing your story CAGE. After my Wife Pixel gets her CDL (Learners Now) and I retrain we will give W/S a call.

Good Luck to You and Your Big RED 2005 Volvo...:biggrin_25525:

The Volvos are 2005 and newer, 670's I believe (the ones without the table/bed). We have some that have the Volvo engine and some that have the Cummins ISX in them. Most are 10 spd, but we have some trucks in our fleet, both Volvo and Freightshakers, that have the crappy auto shift. The governed speed is 65mph. I haven't made the fuel bonus yet, but there is another $.03 bonus that is comprised of fuel stop routing/compliance, Qcomm compliance, and safety compliance (like not getting tickets and having clean inspections, less than x number of log violations, etc). That one is much easier to get as long as you go along with the program...
For a lot of good info, check out this thread: http://www.thetruckersreport.com/truckingindustryforum/motor-carrier-questions-the-inside-scoop/27211-watkins-shepard.html
There is much more info there than we can provide on a question by question basis. Good luck and hope to see you out there someday!

8/2--Been on home time, enjoyed the weekend with wife, kids, parents and grandma's. I am getting plenty of miles when I am running, I am happy I made the decision to go with Watkins Shepard, remember if you have any questions give Roxy a call and let he know I sent ya. :biggrin_2559: Now I need to get better with my trip envelopes, remembering when I dock and load or unload since we get pay for that the info is in the red book or ask Roxy. This was a smart decision for my family and I things are going very well. My truck did had some mechanical issues that appear to be resolved now so time to run and run and get some good miles.

Just got hold of dispatch I am off and running. SFS here I come.

This is good company to start out with. I worked for them for six months and only left to care for my daughter. I tried getting back on with them but since I had more time out of truck than in they want me to either go back to school or go work for another company for 6-8 weeks. I am certainly not paying for school again so I will go get on with someone else til I can get back to W/S. I did enjoy being in SFS in the winter months. So much better than be in Missoula with -20 temps. Have fun and be safe out there.

Flatbed division is O/O only these days. If you have your own truck, give Missoula a call
