I scratched polished stainless

    i have a piece of polished stainless in the truck ( use as mirror) along the wall . anyway , i have a swirl scratch. how can i fix this ?????

    please help if you can !!!! looks awlful .

    Very, very, very fine abrasives, and elbow grease. I've seen cast aluminum taken to a mirror finish by wet "sanding" with 0000 grade steel wool for example. (there were numerous grades of coarser abrasives before they got to 0000 though)

    Jeweler's Rouge may work, though I have no direct experience with it.

    I took the old rusted pitted stainless steal on my old motorcycle to a chrome like shine with some steal wool and a lot of elbow grease.

    2000 grit wet or dry paper then polish
