Right now the plan is to start at Carlisle orientation on Sat. 8/14. Will let you know the details. Supposed to be a Sat. to Friday deal, hotel and 2 meals provided. Transportation(the dog I assume) or reimbursement, I'll take that. Off for a day or so then training at the Gordonsville, VA Wal-mart DC. That's the plan, we'll see the truth. Be safe.

Good luck and I hope everything works out for you.I did the phone interview but when asked to accept I told the recruiter I wanted more time to think and plus I'm also looking at another company closer to my home(LTL gig). If I do go with Schneider its going to be the NE regional. Well thats what I applied for anyways, don't know if that is what i'll end up actually doing.

I thought I'd lump all you guys together. When I hired on, SNI paid for a rental car, both ways. That was for experienced drivers.
Now to Stennis, that would include you, 43 years, dyam, that's a good bit of experience, hats off to ya!:biggrin_25514::biggrin_25525:

johnday, Thanks I appreciate the info! Rental car both ways?? WOW! Couple of more questions please. SNI allow pets at all? Do they have a lease operator program? Thanks...

    No problem, you're welcome.

No on the pets in a company truck.

Ya, they do. You'd be an I/C, independent contractor. You could have a pet with you then. If you go to the SNI website, they have a little about the I/C program, and some pictures of trucks you can lease for enticement. I saw some pretty nice trucks that were leased.

Now the rental. Mine was both ways from Detroit. They didn't have a truck at Greenbay for me. I had to get back to Woodhaven, the Detroit OC, to pick one up.:biggrin_25525:

Hey Stenniss, Dang, 43 years as trucker. Really? Man you got something going right. My recruiter made it very clear (nicely) no pets, no weapons. Since its my first orientation, I'll be driving my big ole pickup truck from VA to PA (4 hrs), they will reimburse, to some extent, the cost of fuel. I'm not sure I would fly these days if they offered it as an option. Good luck to you,

    Stenniss Thanks this.

I think you're asking about parking your POV? Yes you can.
I don't think they'd pay for a plane ticket, but they likely would reimburse you the cost of the bus ticket, and you make up the rest:biggrin_25525:
