My husband Joe started with CR England, I know, that was stupid, but all the companies that take inexperienced drivers (Joe had his CDL, but no experience) suck, at least that was our impression when we looked here on the forum. Now he is stranded in Troy, IL. His so called trainer (faze 2) said that he got all weird and violent (trashing his stereo), but I know my husband, he is the most patient guy I ever met.
This trainer is called Lauro R from Los Angeles, but goes by the name of Miguel. If you go with him be aware of very unprofessional behavior. My husband started with him 4 weeks ago and after 10 days he said that he had home time coming. Lucky for Joe was that he has family near L. A., so he spent his time with them. Miguel should had to leave home early on the Sunday, but he didn't pick Joe up before 8 pm, because he wanted to stay with is family. So they were late with there load, that means they had to sit an other day without getting paid. Then Joe said, that he watches TV on his cell phone while driving, or yesterday he got out of his seat to get something of the shelve behind him, while the truck was running for a few seconds without his driver - Miguel. This is dangerous, don't you agree. And he hardly ever stopped to take a shower, and than complained about the smell.......
So be aware, if you get Miguel (Lauro R) as your "trainer" you will be in trouble.
Joe believes that he got kicked off and fired, because he made it clear that he didn't want to lease a truck from CR England!!!! Do you think that could be the reason? Is it true that the owner-operator, that "train" get extra money when they convince a newbie to lease a truck???

Sounds to me like it was a case of 2 erratic individuals stuck together in a small space. I very seriously doubt that the trainer was entirely at fault. It's just 2 marginal people forced to live with one another with a predictable outcome.

I watched a "so called" trainer for England let her "trainee " take 30 munites to back straight into a hole at the T/A in Santa Rosa, NM last night!
He was lined up perfectly with the hole and couldn't get into it...So then "Miss Trainer" got out and started trying to give some direction and assistance while trucks were backing out onto the road waiting for these two idiots to get a tyruck straight line backed into a parking spot!
I offered some assistance and was told...."No, It's fine, We've got this." That was after waiting for about fifteen minutes for these two fools to accomplish what could have easily been done in 30 seconds!
England is famous for bad trainers that don't even know what they're doing trying to teach someone else how to do it!
But then...So are most of the other bottom feeders.danny_379, Half a Load and zentrucking Thank this. -
My husband is a good driver, he finished top of the class and his first trainer, Perry, was very pleased with him. CR England just seem to have just quite a few bad drivers and my husband was unlucky enough to have to work with two of them. But when I read the forum you read a lot of bad stuff about the so called trainers at CR England.

And yet he chose to go there anyway...Dark_Majesty_06 Thanks this. -
Companies such as this count on getting idiots that know no better. They'll always have people flocking to sign up.

I was considering CR, they called me 3 times and sent several e-mails, I liked that they kept in touch, most of the 100 or so applications I sent in I never hear back from....BUT when I looked at there pay scale: UP TO $0.51 per mile I was suspicious. It breaks down to $0.26 per mile for anything over 700 mile a WEEK! I asked if they get many weeks under 700 miles, she said "not many" WRONG ANSWER! Correct answer would be: 'No never'. I would rather sit on the curb with a cup in my hand than work for a company of such extreme misleading advertising, not to mention $0.26 per mile is unthinkable.
-
What is the average pay per mile?
-
Yeah, he did, because he needed experience to get a job with a good trucking company and we couldn't find any trucking company with a good reputation, that takes newbies.
-
As a newbie you get $0.11-0.13 a mile. You don't even earn minimum wages. Joe only stayed with them, till he would have enough experience to get a decent job.
