A UPS semi truck driver was airlifted to a Tennessee hospital after an accident on I-75 in Rockcastle County Thursday morning in which the driver was trapped in the cab of the truck for over two hours.
The accident happened at about 10 a.m. near exit 69 in Mt. Vernon. Witnesses say the driver of the semi was traveling northbound, somehow lost control, ran off the road and rolled the truck three times before it came to rest in the median.
Officials at the scene say the cab of the semi was underneath the rest of the truck, and that the driver was trapped until they were able to get him out at about 12:30 p.m. The driver was flown by medical helicopter to a hospital in Knoxville, Tennessee rather than UK Hospital due to weather concerns
Northbound lanes remained closed, though southbound lanes were re-opened at about 11:15 a.m.

i was stuck in this traffic, bad scene for sure!, i sat in traffic for just about 2 hours... slowly went past the scene, if i had to take a guess i would have said the driver died, but somehow, some way this guy survived, one lucky sob no doubt!.
