Sounds like you helped your trainer make a nice check! 3002 miles plus 60 a day for having a student... Think I'll take on trainees next year when I can... lol
I'm at about 80% driving myself... Heading back out in the morning... early and teaming this load to Stevens Point. Got us an extra day at the house...

Well, we got to TX yesterday and unloaded ourselves last night. Now my trainer went home, and I'm sitting in a motel in Longview, TX until tomorrow evening when my next trainer gets here. All paid by Roehl. Got a couple more days of EVO 1 left, then I'll probably finish out EVO 2 with this new trainer, hopefully its decent like the last guy.

Well, got picked up the following day by my new trainer, with a load headed to MS, dropped that off and headed up the road. Got up the road and got a free buffet at a casino, then proceeded on. Headed for a load in AR, headed for NE with a pit stop at another casino for another buffet altho it wasn't free, $20, but worth it. Got here, dropped our load and now we sit. They took our preplan from us so now we are sitting until tomorrow. Nice to have a break.
-
Well sounds like you been busting your rump! I been driving a little harder this time out.
-
I busted my ### during EVO 1, now with this guy, he likes to relax while out here besides just drive hard the whole time.

It is good to drive hard when you get the chance. There will be times when the miles aren't there to run and you'll wish you had run harder when you could have. I'm not talking about killing yourself or doing anything illegal.

Well, after a little tiff with my last trainer, I am now sitting in the Gary terminal waiting for a ride to Marshfield to test out on Monday.
As for the tiff, I smoke and the trainer doesn't. So for me, I have a need to stop every couple hours for a quick smoke break, I informed him of this from the get go. Anyways, we had a load that we picked up yesterday morning in GA that was due in Chicago by today at 1430 hrs. When we got the load, he was half out of hours for the day(because of the drive there which could have been done the night before), which he could have finished out then had me drive through mine. However, he had me drive from the get go however only 100 miles to some town where he wanted to stop to see a "friend." He then chose to waste 10 hours just because of this "friend." Which his plan was to hit the road when he finished visiting her(at about 11pm). Which he did, he drove until about 6:30am which only allowed me to sleep about 5 hours because he wanted me to stay up while we crossed the gorge. Anyways, we proceeded down the road with him in the sleeper. I stopped once for a quick break, then we fueled shortly after that. From the time I woke up to about noon, I had 2 cigs. Which didn't help my sleep deprivation at all.
Now the kicker. After the fuel, he stayed in the passenger seat half awake. He got up to move to the sleeper while asking me if I "was good." I told him, for now, but I will need a break soon. I was beginning to get highway hypnosis and really needed a break.
He told me no, that we didn't have the time to stop. He didn't grasp the fact that it wasn't for a smoke, but because I was getting seriously tired. So he continued to sleep in the passenger seat, when I reached over and grabbed the truck stop guide to see where the next one was because i had decided that I was stopping before there was no choice in the matter. He woke up right after I got the guide open(I was driving at the time). He flipped out, yelling at me to never do that again while driving. I couldn't help it, I needed to get off the road before I killed someone, and he wasn't helping with that.
So as we pull into the truck stop with him still screaming, saying that he was gonna call the FM and tell him that I was doing unsafe things, blah blah blah. That was the point that I made sure he understood the situation, I wasn't wanting to stop for a smoke, I was wanting to stop because I was about to fall asleep while driving. Which he still screamed about until he cooled down a bit and realized the situation.
Which then he called his FM and got the load relayed and pushed back until Monday. Altho we still had to get to Gary because he also told his FM no more smoking trainees and was gonna drop me here until a smoking trainer could pick me up.
I have to say that I'm relieved that i don't have to go back out with another trainer, I just want to be done with this phase. So tomorrow, got some yard training with the same guy in the morning then just waiting for my ride to Marshfield. I will be happy to get my own truck where I can run how I want and do my own thing.
Can't wait! -
It's nice to be in your own truck and run the way you want. Sometimes you will have to run hard just to make the delivery on time. Lately that has been most of my loads. Barely time for any breaks. I've had a few where I drive hard all day and realized at the end of a long day that I didn't even eat and too darned tired to eat before hitting the sack.
-
Gotta be committed for that.....lol. I'm sure that I'll have those days too.
-
I started today # 1045 and sat along the highway so long I forgot to eat. I picked up the load and headed for Gary. Just had myself a snack and hitting the rack as soon as my truck is out of the shop.... lol
