Ran th Golden Triangle tonite dis patch has figured away out of turning the Golden triangl into a bronz triangle by not giving me no splits and not bringing me all the way back loaded. Oh well still made ot in under 11 hours.
Good to have Will back at the call center some one who can make good timely decisions and you can still clown with. I don't know if he got demoted or not but if he did get demoted it is the first time some one I liked and respected glad to get demoted. I guess I am just selfish like that

Havn't had to use the call center too much lately ... when I do ... it seems like Bill and Ken and Dave do a great job for me. Miss Marlow quite a bit ... do you know what happened?
Hey, when are we gonna get those new trucks ... we're running rentals ... our old trucks stay in the shop ... it's getting pathetic
-
Talked to a dispatcher( don't want to mention any names ) tonite about the Marlow situation and that individual said Marlow quit because he had gotten passed over for an oppertunity to be a regular dispatcher. The announcement came in and Malow just up and quit.
Stayed in town tonite, had 4 local loads and 1 Hilton Head, got done in 9 hours. I still made over $240 so pretty good night. I was going to leave a note on the dispatchers desk to leave me in Town if mission would allow but I guess he figured out I was pretty tired.
Have a safety meeting next week. Can't wait to hear the horse crap they put out. I need you guys to reconsile the Bills, How about some calabrated tank charts so we can MFer ?
What chaps my butt about the safety folks is how they are supposed to be ex drivers and how quickly they forget where they came from.
Savannah is a sub terminal of N. Augusta and they hired a new Terminal Manager for N. Augusta . He is supposed to be down here next week. He came from the Spartenberg terminal. Had a buddy that worked out of the Spartenbeg terminal and never commented on the terminal manager one way or the other so I guess that i s a good thing. -
Why did they take away your split pay?
-
How do you make it in for safety meetings and work nights ... my shift starts at 18:00 and I'd lose all my beauty sleep trying to attend their meetings ... don't sound too safe to me. Guess I'll just keep trying to make my own safety.
Didn't know that Spartanburg even had a terminal manager ... thought they were all dispatched out from Charlotte -
Who took whose split pay????????
-
I was talking about smokemac and his golden triangle that is now the bronze triangle.
-
Oh that!!! WEll, yeah ... that's just dispatch trying to build a better mouse trap.
They may start you out doing a load that requires you to go to two terminals and drop it at 2 stores ... however, as time goes by, if they can find another store that will load out of the same terminal and still accomplish what they were trying to accomplish with the split then they can reduce the cost for the customer and reduce compensation for the driver.
For instance ... I used to run 3233 in Florence which loaded out of Citgo and split it with 3981 in Monroe loading out of Kinder Morgan 2 (the old Exxon terminal). That would pay about $147 for the load. It looks like they are possibly going to change that to running a 3233 split with 3227 ... both located in Florence so you will still get a split for drop pay .... but both stores load out of Citgo so you will lose a split for pick up pay which saves the customer about $15/load.
It's all about jiggling this stuff around until you achieve maximum profit for the customer and minimum pay for the driver ... which makes customer happy because they don't have to pay as much ... and driver more intellegent as he comes to understand corporate America just a little better.
In this business you've GOT to be flexible because change is gonna come ... when you're through changing, you're through. But it works both ways ... just remember that the president od today is the postage stamp of tomorrow.
Stay Chilly!
