I agree. If you are a company driver you have NO CLUE, to what you are being charged for leasing. I know, I get my husbands weekly statements and the charges every week I have to call and dispute.

OH NO! I was missing a day of layover on my settlement this week. My FM told me I'd get it since I was deadheading and waiting a day to grab a load out of southern Quebec when it was overbooked. So I called my fleet manager this morning and the convo went like this:

ME: I didn't get my layover for that Canada load I did
FM: Yea you did I put it in
    ME: Nope sure didn't
FM: Hang on let me pull it up, nope you sure didn't, someone must of kicked it back out.
FM: Ok I put it back in and you'll get it this week, do you need me to send you a comcheck for it, or are you good?

In the 4 years I've been at Prime, I've had them mess up layover twice, both times on loads coming out of Canada (might be a sign given I've only taken 2 loads out of Canada in the 4 years). Both times I called my FM, and they put it back in with me on the phone, given me the payroll adjustment number in case something happened again, and offered to send me a comcheck for the amount instead of me having to wait another week for the money.

I had 1 pay screw up in the 9 months I was with them. I called my F/M and told him and he put it on that weeks pay. No biggie and easy to get fixed. He told me that it was his fault(I like honesty) and he said he will try and make sure it does not happen again. That was at the about 4 or 5 month mark of being with them. I think they are pretty good with pay but anywhere that big is going to have problems with pay screw ups every once and a while.

    Not my experience.

Maybe you should have had this conversation with reefer management. Not that this didn't happen, but it could have been coincidence too - freight rates swing a lot...

Per the contract, you pay 72% of all tolls incurred.

If you have the settlement prepared in a format that is basically a profit/loss statement, you get a charge for that service. It's basic business information - and personally, I find it invaluable. It's not a charge for "doing your taxes" - that's something completely different.

I've had a couple of problems in the last three years - always taken care of immediately. Only two deals that took more than one call/QC message was dealing with road assist on a part the company needed to pay for, and dealing with the company (a separate business from Prime) that was administering the TWIC program for Prime.

All my Canadian loads seem to go to the French speaking parts, and I think you want to get up around Calgary way.

GOOD; more of you need to have problems getting loads back to "YOUR" country!

Canada and the US... two peas in a pod. We've constructed a series of "Checkpoint Charlies" between the two; Bin Laden must entertain himself with the irony of this during those nights in that cave.

Don't go there "IP"; more and more canadians are down here running loads ("OUR" loads)...

Wonder what the percentage is of AMERICAN'S running loads up in canada compared to them being down here?
