I looked into getting my own authority and so far it may cost me about 700 not including the plates, I want to understand why do o/o look to run under someone else authority.

Less paper trail, and you can build up a client base so that when you can afford all the other bs it's easier to do

It can be said that it's easier just to pay a percentage to the person with the authority and not have to deal with billing and paperwork. Some O/O's are dang good at driving, but lousy at being an office jock.
