Here we are.
One of the most powerful, if not the most powerful country on the planet.
And we are being bullied by a 3rd world country.
And our president and congress is letting them do it.
Years ago the plans were put into effect. Years ago a clear list of goals were set out that mexico would have to achieve before any cross border program would occur.
In that time mexico has not done what they were supposed to do.
But now our government is sitting on it's ### and letting mexico impose tariffs on our products.rocknroll nik Thanks this. -
When we go to war with third world countries and it lasts a decade how does that relate to us as being a " Superpower " ?old-six-pack Thanks this.
-
Being a superpower only has relevance if we negotiate from a position of power.
-
I agree I think we lost the power position around the third month we were in Iraq.
-
Nah, we lost it sometime before we hit Vietnam.
old-six-pack Thanks this. -
Close the border to all freight shipments and the Mexicans would cut the crap quickly. But the Washington crew will never stand up for us. They'll complain for the cameras but they're all hoping for the day they can cram Mexican trucks down our throats and make their contributors/owners even richer.

but Ray Lahood said we were going to have a new policy "very soon", umm but maybe that was a few months ago.
-
Mexico is well within their rights to jack up tariffs.
We all signed the same NAFTA agreement. -
That is true. That should have been addressed in the agreement. Although we have the same right to tariff them right back, not that anyone in DC has the balls.
