Make sure its tethered to something. Depending on the wreck, it could go flying somewhere. Hopefully you never have to use it.

    Drive safe.

If you carried a gerber or a leatherman on your hip you would be in good shape. Has just about anything you would need on it and has the weight to break a window to.

Provided you're not rendered unconscious, that is.

If you get knocked out then godspeed and I wish you the best. I for one would rather be knocked out and burn then being concious the whole time with no way out.....

There is a real simple way to avoid a sad and senseless accident like this....PAY ATTENTION and don't run into a stopped vehicle in front of you. Proper following distance and looking as far ahead of you as possible could have saved both of these gentleman's lives.

Last week driving South bound on I 95 in NC there was a huge back up and I kept warning North bound on the radio, all the sudden I look across the median and see the truck driver hauling butt towards the stopped traffic and I can plainly see he is freaking texting on the phone. He is quickly closing in on the stopped, im thinking dear Lord this is going to be ugly...he looks up realizes he doesn't have time to stop and thankfully takes it on the shoulder and into the ditch. Stuff like that just drives me nuts, total inattention could have caused some innocent people there lives.
