Thanks for the info, I think it's not right that they won't do a background check as a pre-hire, what happens if they send you walking a few days into school would I still be stuck for the whole cost of the school?

 

if i remember right, no you arent responsible if they kick you to the curb in the first 2 days of school. thats when they usually find out whether they are going to keep you or not.

 

oh yeah... im sitting here bored at TA Greensboro for a 34. at least i have a shiny new laptop I can catch up on my Hulu queue!

 

I swear, the next time I'm in WVC on a weekend, I'm going to be headhunting OTR dispatchers. I sent a msg to have a load resent to qcom. No response for about 30 min. Then I called this morning and the Dedicated line for weekend kept kicking me back out to the main menu after 2-3 minutes. All I needed was a load resent to my qualcomm. So I just go into the WVC dispatch figuring it doesn't take a rocket scientist to resend load info and I don't really need dedicated to do it. I wait for about 5 minutes and someone answers the phone while I have it on speakerphone. I'm trying to switch over and I'm giving my truck number when the dispatcher snidely responds, "you're on dedicated" and then dumped me back into the dedicated call queue that kept kicking me back to the main menu before I could even get a single word out of my mouth. So I call back and try dedicated one more time - get kicked back to the main menu then go to the WVC dispatch. I get someone and quickly tell them that I just need a load resent via qualcomm and get another snotty reply: "Well, you need to send a qualcomm message."

Well no ####. Thanks Captain Dispatcher. Had he looked at my info in the system, he'd see a fragging message sent almost 40 minutes prior. But that might require working and god forbid anyone lift a finger on the weekend. It was all I could do not to go off on the guy. I just said that I sent a message and have gotten no reply, called in and got no reply and just need the load resent to me. I know everyone says weekends are bad but this is the worst treatment I've received from anyone at Central. So Cubby-Tina, I share your pain. No one there talks to anyone if they can avoid it at all possible costs.

Funny thing is that I don't think the grass will be that much greener anywhere else unless it is a small shop with only a couple office staff managing all of the back end stuff.

 

Aren't you allowed to get a motel at this point? Assuming you are company driver. If not I'd still be there in an airconditioned space.

 

Pray tell, what is Hulu queue?

OK, thanks. Sitting here in IA watching LLWS. NW is kicking MW in loser bracket. Also on 34 till tomorrow night....Another Saturday night and I ain't got nobody...but I just didn't get paid...####.
