If your family oriented then just GO! Screw the job! Your brtoher only gets married once lets hope and I am pretty sure if you miss it you will be kicking yourself in the ##### for missing it.

 

This is good stuff! Going to happen to you all the time being a trucker! Good luck trying to make a doctors appointment! Just tell your brother you will be there for the divorce! Just playin with you! You do need to be wary as to how much time you burn between school and orientation. Most companies will make you take a fresher course, which is expensive if you miss more than a few weeks out of school. Welcome to the forum. Stay away from Swift too!

 

I'm starting cdl school in Babylon in Sept.....are the only jobs around out of state.......Thanks usmc85

 

I was under the impression that once you had your cdl you could stay "idle" as long as you wanted. A company could require you to complete a training program or maybe take a refresher course or something. IDK for sure though but I'd still go to the wedding if only for the open bar and lonely bridesmaids.

 

There is no way you can miss this, unless you are either dead, in jail, or so sick or injured that you are unable to escape from the hospital.

NOW LISTEN UP HERE! Any company that is trying to talk you into missing this, is going to do nothing but continually expect you to drop your drawers and bend over for them! It will just get worse as your time with them goes on.

They may try to make you think that this is a "test" of your "willingness to put your job ahead of your personal life." Well, don't fall for it. There are thousands of trucking companies out there.

GO TO THE WEDDING, enjoy yourself and then try to find a decent company to work for!

 

If there are lonely hot bridesmaids I'd defintely go, especially if there's an open bar. Now that makes it worthwhile.

 

In a way...kind of a "test drive", or a pre-trip inspection for the funeral director!
