Would like some ideas on a top quality antenna mount.I would like to attach it to the rear hatch door of my SUV.Its a compact SUV,there is no frame.I will be using a tunable,4 ft,top loaded antenna.

You might want to check he websites of some Ham radio stores. They carry some pretty fancy lip mount bases by companies like Diamond and Comet that you might be able to use with a whip.

This guy makes the best mounts I have seen, I use one of them on my pickup. He's a little pricey, but top notch stuff. Plus, If you dont see what you're looking for as far as design goes just draw up something and send it to him, it you can dream it he'll build it.

But to get back to the question, do you mind drilling holes in the rear hatch, or not? A picture of the mounting place might help.

NO!No holes.I'm sure there are plenty of mounts available that do not require holes drilled.

No I don't.You were probably going to suggest using the receiver hitch to mount the antenna.Thank you,I've seen that done before.
